Sorry just a ranty post!

I emailed a dress shop (for those of you that dont know im not having a traditional wedding dress, im having a 50s one) and asked what size there sample dresses are as im a size 16. And she said the sample dresses are 8s and 10s. Oh great! Why if the national average is a size 16 would you not hold any bigger sizes?!

I dont want to buy a dress based purely on the fact it looks nice, I want it to look nice on me! Smiley sad

Sorry for moaning

Milton Keynes you say.... Interesting! I went to Tesco in Wolverton the day before the royal wedding and it was rammed. Sold out of everything. Mental.

What 50s dresses have you looked at BB?

Hummus - vile stuff, I don't touch it!

My dress size - some days I'm a size 10, other days I'm a size 20. It all depends on what I see when I look in the mirror.

I tried on a size 20 wedding dress and didn't feel that it took anything away from my wedding dress shopping experience.

Dress designers should photograph different size models wearing their clothes - I want to know what my dress looks like on someone bigger than the size of the model.

Hummus, Pesto and Taramasalata all make me VOM.com.

Yuk yuk, I'll throw guacamole in there too while I'm at it *Sicks in my mouth*

Dresses? All the samples in my area were a 14. Maybe it ties in to your economic area?

Meh. I started the 'Thin Bashing' thread a while ago, so wont got there again!

    Seriously though, guacamole anyone?

Guacamole is AMAZING!!! So is Tzaziki (sp?)

Hummmmmmmus is god awful and pesto the work of the devil. My mum used to try to feed it me on pasta for a 'cheap and cheerful healthy meal' bleck.

Guacamole is delish. But I used to live with two Mexicans so ate a lot of it. And homemade stuff too, not the pureed supermarket dip guacamole, mmmm big chunks of avocado, fresh tomatoes mmmmm

I make my own guacamole, tzatziki and hummus/hoummus. Dead easy and much tastier. (Love how this thread has evolved from talking about de-robing fatties to a discussion about dips).

I once made houmous (testing a new spelling today). I put too much garlic in it. By the second day, it was inedible. Smiley smile

I normally use one garlic clove, a tin of chickpeas, a glug of olive oil, 1-2 tbsp tahini, juice of one lemon and then flavour with coriander/ roasted red peppers.

Um..I'm a size 8 and I'm healthy. We aren't all skin and bones you know.

Just to make a point from us size 8 girls, all the sample dresses I tried on were sizes 12-16. I was pinned and pulled into place in those dresses and I still had to use my imagination as to what they would look like. It's not ideal for anybody whatever size you are, they can't provide a sample of every dress is different sizes, that's just silly.

Btw, I hate guacamole, avacado is disgusting. Love houmous, yum!

I'm going to have to try some of this pesto hummous. Sounds lovely. Current favourite is caramelised onion hummous (and Tesco now sell it in a light variety).

BTW, I like hummous with an 'o'!

Sadly, this girl has gone from being dangerously overweight to dangerously underweight.

The most succsessful de-rail of the year I reckon...

I tried to make Hummus [going for that spelling today] it was awful. I just ended up with a chickpea and lemon mess. Apparently it was the lack of Tahini [which my recipie said was optional] that caused it. Im just going to keep Mr Tescos in business and buy it from him I think.
