Back from honeymoon! (few flashes)

woowoo83, 29 October, 2013 at 12:24 Posted on Planning 0 16

Well today I'm back to work after 4 weeks off, I can't believe how fast it's gone, the wedding seems like ages ago! We had a wonderful honeymoon travelling around the West Coast of USA (despite the US government shutting down!) but now I guess it's back to reality. I should be getting my professional pics this week but here's a couple for now, and also a few honeymoon shots.

It all looks lovely! Happy faces all round. Congrats!

Gotta confess the bar place reminded me of Friends' Central Perk! =)

You look gorgeous and your dress is so pretty!

What stops did you have on the US west coast? How was it? We're hoping to do the same (saving hard!) stopping at Las Vegas, LA Long beach, Pismo Beach, Monterey and San Fran.

You're right, it is! It was actually the set of Friends at Warner Brother's studios, very surreal!

We did San Fran, Lake Tahoe (was meant to be Yosemite but had to change due to the shutdown), Las Vegas, LA (Redondo Beach), Santa Barbara, Big Sur and Santa Cruz. We stopped off in Monterey on our way up the coast and it was beautiful, also worth a visit around those areas are Carmel and San Luis Obipso. It was truly amazing and I would recommend it to anyone. Although not if you're wanting a relaxed honeymoon - could do with a holiday to get over it!

We're doing something similar, San Fran, Carmel, Santa Barbara and Vegas. Anything you recommend? Where did you stay in Big Sur?

ETA; you look gorgeous btw! And very happy Smiley smile

I love your pictures, your dress is gorgeous and looks just right on you.

Also planning a USA west coast honeymoon, aiming for three weeks starting in Seattle and working our way down via Oregon, Crater Lake, Redwood national park, San Fran, the Big Sur and onto San Diego, may make a trip to Las Vagas if we have time but not going to over do it. Your pictures of your honeymoon are fab!! Cant wait for mine now!

Thank you for sharing Smiley smile

San Fran I would recommend getting bikes to go over the Golden Gate, by far the best way to see it. If you do that, get the bikes in the morning, we didn't get them until lunchtime and didn't have time to do the route that they recommend but the bits we managed were truly stunning. I'd also suggest allowing at least 2 days around Carmel/Big Sur, my regret is that we didn't allow long enough to really experience the beauty of Big Sur. we stayed at a place called Deetjen's, it was a lovely rustic cabin in the woods, although no locks on the door which we found a bit odd!

The only thing I would say is to allow yourself enough time in each place, in the main we had the right balance but a couple of places it felt rushed. Also, don't under estimate the amount of shopping you might do, we're not big shoppers normally but had to buy an extra case to get everything home as some things are too cheap not to buy!

Sounds wonderful! We visited Seattle last year, I love that place! I can recommend Vegas to 'experience' it but if you're not big into partying or gambling, it might not be your thing, we found we were heading to bed when most people were just going out!
