Good afternoon ladies (and not forgetting gents too!)

I have been a member for quite a while but have never managed to get around to writing on the forum but over the last few days, I have been reading lots of comments etc and thought i would join the fun ?

I am due to get married on 10/12/11 and have been busy organising the wedding now since H2B proposed on Christmas Day 2009. We are having a small (ish) wedding with approx 75 guests with another 120 in the evening. We are getting married in Caerleon University, Newport, South Wales and having the reception and evening party there too. Our colour is Cadbury Purple and the bridesmaids are going to get measured for their dresses on Saturday so I am very excited about that. I am also having my first wedding dress fitting on 23 July.

I "think" we are pretty much done and dusted now with organising and sorting etc, ie cars, flowers, cake, cupcakes, suits, DJ, photographer, etc. I am hoping to get nearly everything done a good month before the actual day so i can enjoy the run up to my big day.

Would be nice to hear from you lovely B2Bs.

i joined and have now fallen off the conveyor belt to the other side 5months ago now. This is a great place to be

I had cadbury purple too as you can see from my avatar! I was the fortunate one to have a dress made for me in this lovely colour

Hi Viking Princess, wow 23rd December. Are you having a Xmas theme or just Winter? My apologies to you, not sure what you mean about preps? New to this game, sorry. Fingers crossed i will pick up the lingo very soon.

Welcome!!

You get married 5 days before me! And i'm now concerned that i am nowhere near as organised as i should be.... although i do have a meeting with my stationary advisor tonight (my good friend from school) and i'm going to see my actual wedding dress tomorrow, and get to see my bridesmaids too!!!!

Think i might start another list.... i like lists....

We are on 23rd December and got engaged Christmas Day 2010, so a year after you.

Likewise, we are also having our BMs in purple but my Mum is making the dresses as I couldn't find anything I liked that was in our price range.

Sounds like you are pretty organised...you must flash us some pictures of your planning so far! Would love to see.

Wow, another December bride!! We had dreadful trouble finding BM dresses in Cadbury Purple - a lot of the shops saying "oh yes, very popular colour but sorry we havent got any of that colour available"!! Eventually found some and they are being measured this Saturday. You are very lucky to have someone who is very clever with a machine too. I was quoted prices "from" £250 ?

Over the next week or so, i will be putting together our table decorations as a trial so will post some photos on here. We are having Hurricane Lamps from M&S with a candle in the middle, Cadbury Purple Christmas Baubles of different sizes and a small set of white Christmas lites to light it up (probably wont be lighting the candle tho ?). They will be sat on top of a square glass tile with tea lights in glass tea light holders and the table decorated with some purple and clear crystals. Top table have a different style glass vase but with the same principle inside.

How is your organising going?? Everything going to plan so far?
