That dress is gorgeous. If you are wearing a silver wrap and bag that will brighten your outfit up a lot so go for it.

Thats what I thouht only snag is my silver shoes kill my feet, could I get away with black shoes aswell, or would that be pushing it?

Personally, I'd try not to wear black or white/ivory to a wedding. But I can see your problem! I think you'd be better off adding bright colours if possible rather than silver which is more of a 'neutral' shade. Something like a turquoise/red/fuchsia/etc belt with matching shoes, bag and wrap.

It's a lovely dress and really suits you!

I wouldn't mind a jot if someone wore black to my wedding.

Dress looks lovely on you. No point spending more money this close to your wedding - wear what you have I think!

I'm not a lover of black at a wedding but sounds like you are a bit stuck, I would brighten it up wherever possible with bright colours - shoes, accessories, jewellery...

That is a lovely dress! (and looks far better on you than the model). I can see where you're coming from about wearing black though. Personally I wouldn't, but I know a lot of people do so I don't think it would be frowned upon or anything.

Black shoes would be too much though, sorry.

I wore a black maxi dress to SIL's wedding, and paired with fuschia pink shoes, bag and fascinator. I also had a pink and black floral wrap, but it was far too hot for this on the day!

    Black is fine! x

If your black shoes are more comfortable wear them. I'm a huge believer in being comfortable just wear some gorgeous nail varnish on your fingers.

Black can indeed look very "funeralish" but a lot depends on the style, and I wouldn't have said that dress looks like the sort of thing you'd really wear to a funeral.

I'd suggest it's fine to wear, with the various comments above.

It's a lovely dress, looks fantastic on you and I think it's just fine for a wedding. A few of my guests wore black but with bright accessories and didn't look at all sombre.

My Mum is actually wearing a black dress to my wedding!! I didn't want her to but she has fallen in love with a black dress and black and white hat so she has got herself a white jacket from coast to go with it and it looks amazing and very classy!

Your dress is very nice and I have worn a black dress to a wedding albeit an evening reception but I wore bright pink shoes and a pink flower in my hair and I thought it looked really good if i do say so myself! Just accessorise with bright colours! x

I think your dress is lovely and with some nice accesories will be great, and just fine for your friend's wedding.

I would black to a wedding not a problem.

Its a classic colour that'll never look out of place.

You can always add colour through make up, nail varnish & accessories.q

Thanks for all you comments guys and extra thanks for the lovely compliments - Im not a girl that is big into colours, infact all I have and wear is blacks browns blues and creams. Howvever I'm feeling the pinky vibe I do have a lovely pink corasge thing that I could put in my hair, the only problem is Ill have to accesorise with shoes bag and then it becomes pricey and defeats the object. I'm sure Ill think of somehting though and thanks again Smiley smile

How about this from M&S? Only £6 (hope you're not a girl that needs a suitcase to carry all her stuff around in as this wouldn't work!) http://www.marksandspencer.com/Marks-and-Spencer-Foldover-Clutch/dp/B00471BT9O?ie=UTF8&ref=sr_1_1&nodeId=43177030&sr=1-1&qid=1307027873&pf_rd_r=04N0DJ84AB6N1EKZ200N&pf_rd_m=A2BO0OYVBKIQJM&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_i=43177030&pf_rd_p=215570647&pf_rd_s=related-items-3

and possibly a but pricey at £49 if we're trying to save money is these https://www.johnlewis.com/ but you get my drift!?

I have those bags for my bridesmaids! Bought them in the silver/cream colour and can confirm they are really lovely and you cannot tell them apart from a similar bag costing £20. Only thing is that their strap is made of that 'rope'-like material and it isn't the best, but it isn't BAD either and if you use it as a clutch bag you can't see the strap so there is no issue.

That's a lovely dress and it really suits you! I completely agree that it seems perfectly fine to wear that to a wedding. I also can't see a problem with having a silver wrap and shoes and yet another colour for your bag and fascinator esp that hot pink.

I love the dress but personally I wouldn't wear black to a wedding.

On the other hand at my wedding I doubt I'll notice what colour people are wearing!
