Bridezilla or not?

ForTheLoveOfMrsBrown, 3 June, 2011 at 15:32 Posted on Planning 0 13

On the day before our wedding, we have to shift to the hotel near our venue (about 30 mins drive from our house). This will involve transporting the suits, my dress, all shoes/accessories/accoutrements, a suitcase with our normal stuff in it for the rest of the time, boxed gifts and probably twenty other things I haven't thought of. Planning to arrive at the hotel for around 2pm, to meet both families and organise a quiet afternoon of pool/spa/chilling out/couple of glasses of wine etc.

Is it bridezilla of me to think that, actually, for boy to go and play golf on that day, to take our only car to do so and to plan to rock up at the hotel around 6 pm is pretty bl00dy un-f*cking-reasonable?

"Oh, your parents can come and get you from the house and move you, can't they?". Not the point, my darling. He actually looked like I was being unreasonable when I suggested that he might want to help me prepare for our wedding.

No. But men are different creatures entirely & see such like things as unimportant, un-stressful & generally 'flaffy'.

    They do not get it.

No, not unreasonable or bridezillaish at all... he is also getting married!

How you suggest that you are going to the spa for the afternoon and that he should ferry everything around?

Ooooooo dear no that is not bridezilla at all. I'd be mortified if OH left me to do all the moving & sorting on the day before the wedding, even more so if he did and didn't leave me a car to do it!

Hope you manage to knock some sense into him (preferably not literally though hehe).

Any chance of him fitting in 9 holes once you've got everything to the hotel and you're in the spa?

Otherwise, get yourself a BGT buzzer and give him his answer that way!

Do not get me wrong, I am a reasonable woman Smiley smile First compromise: get me and our stuff to the hotel for 2 pm and then go for golf for the afternoon. His objection: he wouldn't be back at the hotel until gone 7pm and that would hack me off even more and make him later to the pub to have a few pints with the Dads/brothers/etc.. Second compromise: Well, take me to the hotel early, I'm sure they'll check our stuff in, then I'll bob around to the venue/high street and have a recce for photos, grab coffee etc, until I can get into the room and unpack. His objection: he didn't want me having to walk from the hotel to the high street (about 2 km, I am not a child) on my own. WTF?

He will lose this battle. He just doesn't know it yet.

Fair enough then if you've already tried to compromise!

    WEES!

I'm just waiting for my OH to suggest something as ridiculous as it sounds like something he would come out with!

Damn, I saw you were the OP and would have loved to say 'yes you're being an almighty bridezilla' ? Sadly, I think you're being entirely reasonable, especially as you've already offered him 2 compromises which he's turned down for silly reasons.
