Can I recommend something we had at our wedding?

Panjita, 27 June, 2011 at 16:16 Posted on Planning 0 14

We thought having a video guestbook at our wedding was a nice little extra, but we just didn't realise how brilliant it would be. We got the DVD on Friday and it is absolutely BRILLIANT! It starts off all very civilised, various guests leaving us messages of congratulations. It was really emotional to watch! My mum could barely get her words out, she was really choked as she left a lovely message for us.

As the DVD goes on, the messages get slightly more drunk and lairy and we were in absolute fits of laughter. There's one particular friend of mine who was on it about 10 times. Each time, a bit more drunk until she was just slurring into it and repeating herself. It's a cringer for her, but it is so funny.

Anyway, they are highly recommended and if you've got a bit spare in your budget, it is well worth the money. Look out for them at the National Wedding show as I think they do promotional discounts.

I second this. Our videographer filmed a few messages at the end of the evening.

My sisters were so drunk by the end of the day they giggle their way through their message, one just gives up and tells us she loves us! ?

My aunties couldn't workout how to use the message machine so there are 4 or 5 messages from them which are just the two of them giggling. It's so contagious.

We saw this at the wedding show and thought it was a great idea but decided against because it was quite expensive and there wasn't one close to where we are getting married. You're making me rethink our decision agian!

Looks like a really gret idea. My family hate having someone stick a video camera in their face and avoid them at all costs but this is less intrusive and fun!

I've got a small kodak instant camcorder (similar to a Flip). I might put this on our photo table after your suggestion.

I really wish we'd had the budget for some manner of video of the day. You think you'll remember it but in actual fact so much of my wedding was a blur, it's really difficult to recall certain parts! I love reliving it by looking through the photos.. would be even better to do it with a video!

At the very least, take along a camcorder and designate someone "drunken message recorder" for the evening.

I think this is a fab idea.

I'm lucky as h2b is in the trade so we have 2 videographers one in which will be doing the wedding and another which will be doing vox pops on us, i can't wait to see them!

Added to the other camera's he's having around the venue....*rollseyes* lol
