Centrepiece help please.

*MM3*, 14 August, 2013 at 22:24 Posted on Planning 0 12

Asked this before aaages ago but still no further, so rubbish at making decisions!

So we're having a U shaped table, our florist is providing 6 centrepieces similar to these:

So it will be 2 of these at each side of the "top" table and 2 spread out at each side as well.
In between what can I have that will match? We only have these & a mr & mrs sign (& my bouquet in front of me in vase)
I love birdcages...would I need 6 of these for in between these or would that look silly or untidy / out of proportion?

I also love these :

Now I really wanted these when we were having an autumn wedding and wanted acorns around it but since we've moved to a June wedding, any ideas how we can jazz these up a bit, make them better or have something pretty surrounding them that will look pretty but summery or fit in with our red theme?
Or will they look too small in between the bowl centrepieces?

Something that's probably so simple to most of you is frying my brain Smiley sad

I think I'd keep it simple and just scattered petals (like the pic) and tealights in clear glass Votives? You could have 2/3 inbetween each bowl. Or maybe 1 of the lanterns inbetween each. But small ones maybe. I think birdcages might look a bit too cluttered? I think whatever you have in between the bowls should be smaller so that the bowls stand out as your centrepieces :o)

I think you need to keep it quite simple as the vases are quite decorative and will make quite an impact already.

What about something like these inbetween...

    [The red ones obviously, lol]

I agree with the others, some little tea light candles and love the paper table decorations, nice and simple.

Do I remember you're a little 'alternative' (I mean that nicely...I am too Smiley winking), you can personalise your own plectrums, if you're into music and scatter them on the table? We're doing this, that was my OHs 'mastermind' idea. Lol!

*Mrs M to be* - I like that idea and do you know i hadn't even thought of scattering petals or anything even though its in that pic haha *DOH*. I thought the bird cages might look too cluttered so think you're right and smaller is better Smiley smile thank you!!

Katede - Love those little jars they're so cute, and really love the confetti especially the music & initials hearts Smiley smile Thank you!

Sharnem - They're lovely, really like floaty candles so might go for something like this and look for small vases Smiley smile Really pretty! Thanks a lot!

Chippet - Yes you're all right i think it's a case of less is more on this one! Definately going smaller. Yes i am "alternative" haha, that is an AMAZING idea!! I hadn't thought of anything like this, love it Smiley smile Thank you!!

Think i'll buy just a couple of the small lanterns and see if the coordinators can advise me on where to put them and get some other little vases & tealights and incorporate these ideas, i'm sure they'll help me as i'm hopeless. Going to look for scattering confetti & personalised plecs haha, thanks so much for your replies you're all brilliant!

The pictures of the cutout confetti I posted were from Etsy and from American sellers so although really cheap probably not worth the postage. But you could make your own super easily with a heart punch and some nice red paper and some old music sheets? ;-)

I agree with the others that one style of centrepiece is best as introducing a second which would be a different style and shape would upset the visual balance. You can buy heart shaped confetti in bags from ebay or from birthday card shops - I think it's about £2 for a bag.

It never seems to work when I try and add links, but this is the place we're gonna use for the plectrums. Not sure on our design yet though
