They look lovely, especially in old houses. But they don't look like the kind of sofa that you would lay on to watch a DVD.

I think they'd look good in a study type room rather than a living room.

My mum has one, its not the 'quilted leather with buttons' kind, it used to be upholstered in the most gorgeous green velvet when I was little but shes re-done it so many times since then and it now boasts the most gorgeous shaped back in a fantastic cream brocade. V talented mammy.

I dont like them they are too fussy and old fashioned for me and they dont look comfy at all, look like you should be perched on the edge whilst awaiting a solicitors appt to me

Lol, all my mums furniture are antiques. I used to sit in the front room listening to my new nirvana cd on velvet period chairs or a chaise longue... it really didnt feel right and she didnt understand what was so wrong with it lol....

Thank god! I'm so clueless when it comes to furnishings. Someone once asked me whether I liked oxford pillowcases and I had no idea what they were either

I only know what they are from when i was ordering some pillowcases online and there was an option so i had to work out what they were!!
