Anyone used one before? Did they help you?

I've had problems with my hips and lower back for years so just wondering if they will help me with it

I see one and have done for about 6 / 7 years now for my scoliosis. It can't hurt to make an appointment with one and see if there's anything they can do to help.

Also, have you been to the doctor about it? I was referred to a physio first on the NHS but they told me they couldn't help me unless I wanted surgery to correct the spine first but it may be that they can do something for you first.

I've been to the doctors a couple of times with my hips. 1st time he said it was because I was tall which I accepted until after a couple of years it gradually got worse so went back last year and they sent me to physio. Unfortunately ( and I know this is going to sound lazy ) but she wanted me to do 30 minutes of exercise a day and with my job I just dont have time to do that. I'm on my feet 12 hours a day 5 days a week so it just wasn't possible.

Might give them a ring and see what they say, like you say it can't hurt to try

I see an Osteopath rather than a Chiropractor (not really sure what the technical differences are...) and it has really helped me, I have problems with my knees and shoulder blades which she worked wonders with and she really helped when I broke my coccyx!!

The thing is, a chiropractor / osteopath / physio can only do so much and unless you want to pay for appointments every week then the exercises are the best thing to do inbetween.

I presume most of them were stretches and the like? I fit mine in whilst dinner is cooking or whilst watching something on the TV. I do also do them at work if my back aches.

Exercises and the odd massage/manipulation are what helped my knees, the problem was being made worse by lack of muscle development and so the exercises were the only thing that would work.

I'm just going to put this here: https://humanists.uk/2009/07/29/news-331/ and point out that "the fundamentalist [chiropractor]s argue that they can cure anything, including helping treat children with colic, sleeping and feeding problems, frequent ear infections, asthma and prolonged crying – even though there is not a jot of evidence." - quote from Simon Singh's Guardian article on chiropracty (reproduced in that link).

Please don't go and see a crazy spine manipulator until you've at least read that article and some background on Simon Singh's libel case. Then go and see a proper, medically qualified doctor or physiotherapist.

Hi Pinky. I went to one q couple of years ago for about 12 weeks and it made a massive difference. I struggled with my neck and shoulder muscles and it really helped to realign. I would love to keep it up but so expensive. Not one session caused me any pain. I would recommend from my experience.
