    Can you adopt me?

I've got my eldest a 3DS, and I am SO tempted to play it before I give it him.

My youngest will only be 6 months, so I tried not to go too mad with presents for him, failed epically!!!

I love spoiling my kids at Christmas...

    here's my eldest last xmas

I got one of OH's Xmas presents the other day actually. I normally buy things as I see them throughout the year, but thus far havent seen anything! Got 4 close family birthdays in Sept (including a 50th) though so not sure how much I'll get done this month....

Sheesh, you guys are v organised! I normally start in Nov and feel super organised if I'm done the week before Christmas and not Christmas eve! I'm afraid Aug is way too early for me to start thinking about it, I'm in the 'Christmas songs should not be played till at least November' camp...

I haven't started buying presents yet, but I have got all my Christmas cards and wrapping paper etc. I just need to get a couple of Christmas cards this year as we recently had a little boy so I want a 1st baby Christmas card and a card for grandparents etc.

I love Christmas. I wrote the present list and card list last week but can't write the cards yet as we are due a new baby in four weeks! I will soak the fruit for the Christmas cakes this week I think and go and buy the cards. My sons birthday is in four weeks too so I can't buy him anything till after his birthday just in case!!! Due to new baby this year presents are going to be reduced and I have agree with friend with children that we are only buying for the kids from now on something I thought Id never do but think needs must at present Smiley sad

I love to make a start round about now and then usually have finished mid November!

I will make a card and present list anytime now really but I usually get a large amount done on my holidays in October!

    I love it!!

It's 117 days till Christmas. We're getting married 10 days before it, so Christmas shopping has taken a back seat this year. We told people we wouldn't be really doing a big Christmas this year and everyone was in agreement. Everyone will be getting a gift at the wedding, so we don't feel so bad that we can't spoil people at Christmas too.

Every year I say I'm going to be organised and every year I fail to do anything until at least after Bonfire Night. Need to get the notepad out and start making lists!

I have started to think about it away next week, so will look around then. Not money again this year and also my Mum is 60 just under a week before. I got my dad a newspaper of the day he was born so thinking may do the same with my mum

Do any of the "non-believers" on here feel a bit of a hypocrite by celebrating Christmas?

Crikey! You lot are super organised. I tend to start my christmas shopping half heartedly in the middle of november but i resent doing anything christmassy before my birthday (25th november) However, I always aim to be totally done by the 15th of December so i can relax.

I read a book called "The Atheists Guide to Christmas" which gives various reasons to justify Atheists celebrating.

Hey I'm not saying anyone should feel like a hypocrite, I'm an atheist and bloody love Chrimbo.

H's two eldest are JW's and they get punished if they receive presses or participate in Christmas at all, they get punished by their stepfather. Ridiculous.

I am generally a very organised person, but I usually leave Christmas shopping until beginning - mid November. OH has 3 brothers and we usually come up with some kind of rule each year as to how much to spend or give a list of what people want for the house etc, so I need to wait for someone to come up with that this year.

We won't be doing anything about it until November. I much prefer to plan when it's getting wintery.
