could you give your opinion please?!

sammi23, 2 January, 2012 at 20:33 Posted on Planning 0 9

My mum has announced today that me and h2b should really get cracking with all the wedding things as "its only 6 months away"! (not tht we needed reminding ?)

we have come home and started chatting about everything...now our guest list is huge (240) were not having a wedding breakfast etc... church service then back to local club with a buffet.

we wanted a sweet buffet but are now toying with the idea of giving everyone a penny sweet mix as a favour! roughly 30p each so the bag looks pretty full and we can still then fit in our 'thankyou for comin notes' these are credit card size.

Do you think this is tacky?? or could we pull it off? after all who doesnt like penny sweets!?xx

OH's brother and his wife did something like that and it went down very well. I think their's was mostly haribo (can't quite remember!) but the idea was the same - they put them in see through little bags (cellophane i think) and tied it with the right coloured ribbon and made the tables really bright and cheerful - very well received!

I had friends that had favour boxes full of kids sweets - they went down very well by children and adults alike - mind you we had to stop ourselves from eating them all when we were putting then in the boxes!

We had cellophane bags, with a personalised sticker, filled with Haribo - the OH loves sweets and they went down a storm.

I think it sounds great and so many great ways to do it, go for it. Mind you even 30p for 240 people is a lot of money. can you go wholesale? A lot of grocery wholesaler will let anyone join

Am I the only one that finds choosing a wedding colour to be the most difficult part? I don't have a "favourite color" and like so many colors and styles! I’ve already decided on my flowers (white, very simple yet natural looking) but don't want my flower colour to be "the wedding colour" I don't want my bridesmaids to be wearing white or black. It’s such a difficult decision. What about this www.wholesale-weddingdress.com?

Im hoping to find a wholesale near by....we have looked online at prices but no sure who many sweets you get in a 3kg bag! we knw we can buy boxes of 300 but are trying to work it out. my local shop has offered small sweets bags for £2 for 300 and we have the stickers left over from the invites!
