Dating - meep!

Diefenbaker, 10 February, 2009 at 20:41 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 8

Things all seem to be happening at once chez Dief. Not only has soon to be ex Mr Dief emailed me about starting the divorce proceedings (at last!) but I also have been shown some 'interest'. By two men, no less (ooh get me!) I've known both of them a while, both used to be married but are no longer. I do fancy one more than the other but they're both nice guys.

One is currently on holiday but told a mutual friend that he likes me and would like to take me out on his return.... and the other has asked me if I fancy going out for dinner soon. Can I date them both at once - is that morally wrong or am I just being a girl? If I date them both, I shouldn't mention the other, right? Gosh - what do you even do on dates, I don't think I've ever had a 'proper' date in my life! Help me, oh wise Hitchers, please....

Ooh, get you. Let the fun times begin!

I wouldn't bother mentioning until one of you starts thinking a bit more seriously. I don't think it's morally wrong to not say anything. They don't know each other, right?

    I know, I feel like a teenager!

Chicken - they don't know each other, so i think you're right. I'm sure people have numerous 'dates' all the time, right?

I'd say so. I really don't think there's a point until you know what's what. I'd tell them if they ask though. Or if you think one of them's getting serious and you're still wanting to have a laugh.

    Have fun!

Go for both, you wont know which one you prefer until youve tried them (and I dont mean that in a literal sense)

Go for both (unless they're good mates which may be a little odd !).

I'm in a similar situation, not married but came out of long term relationship. It's taken 8 or 9 months but I'm really starting to enjoy it again and I'm starting to meet guys. Mine seem to be dotted about the country as have met them when been with various friends. (Before anyone thinks I'm a complete slapper it's snogs, coffee, texts & emails stage not full blown working my way around the UK ? )

YOu may like both of them or after a couple of drinks etc you may realise that not for you so I wouldn't start going 'exclusive' yet. Instead enjoy & good luck ?

I think the best way is to go with whatever you feel is best for you. I was at a point where I wasn`t really meeting anyone. But meeting lots of people. I relaxed a bit and started going a few dates just to see how things go, and should I ever get to the point of wanting to make a commitment, then you can take the plunge. That`s my way of looking at it anyway.

Good luck! Hopefully you`ll be more lucky than I currently am! ?
