Dinner time...

Storky, 16 November, 2011 at 16:02 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 31

What are you having?

We had a tasty but spicy minced pork and prawn dish last night, wrapped up in lettuce leaves. Delicious. Just beans on toast followed by fruit tonight though. Quick and easy.

I've never got the lettuce wrap thing - doesn't it go all hot and soggy?

We are having, um, I don't know actually.*

Chicken curry tonight. Meat marinading in the fridge since last night, will see what I can create with it. No idea what it'll taste like but it shouldn't be too bad.

I was just texting H to see what he fancied. He gave his usual response of 'lasagne' so it's either that or shepherds pie. Exciting!

    Your pork dinner sounds yummers.

Beans and a bit of cheese on jacket potatoes here with maybe some fish fingers. Yogurt and fruit for afters too and maybe some popcorn if the kids are quickly in and out of the bath and into PJs in time.

I've not done a proper shop in days! Tomorrow I'm popping to tesco and I'll be making lentil soup for lunches and mackerel with salsa verde for tomorrow's dinner.

Not a clue tonight but yesterday a was good wifey and made philly (although other types of cream cheese are available) meatballs pasta. But I tweeked it a bit by adding finely chopped onion and green chillies to the meatballs and more chillies to the sauce for an extra kick. Was delicious. I also knocked up some carrot cup cakes (although these were from a packet), hangs head in shame, equally delish though

FTLOMB - I use little gem leaves. Separate them out and then you use them as edible spoons. Delicious and not enough time for them to get soggy.

Lots on the spud wagon tonight.

Tonight's exciting offering is a pizza. H is out and I'm relying on him for cooking recently so without him the best I can manage is unwrapping the packaging and putting it in the oven.

No idea. I might leave it to H tonight as I am well and truly ready for bed! Will probably be a pasta bake from our emergency stock.

Squeezed it out the bottle ?

Its a take off of the asda 'make your own pizza'. I always have this made up and i thought id give it a try at home. Made a base, put on bbq sauce, cheese and toppings.

We had exactly this last night (well minus the healthy peppers and sweetcorn and had chicken instead) plus a mound of chips.

OH is working away AGAIN tonight so I am being lazy and having camembert, bread, homemade red onion marmalade and slow roasted garlic (I'm sure this is what I was having the last time I replied to a thread like this..)

    I am so unhealthy

Tonight Matthew I have made steak and ale pie, the filling has been simmering away all day in the slow cooker and the pastry is just resting now before I whack it on and in the oven so quite a quick and easy dish for us today. Made a chicken tikka masala on Monday hot one for the boy and a mild one for me and our little boy but all still homemade and last night was just a quick and simple beans on toast as we were going out.

I don't usually do homemade stuff every night to be honest but since being laid off I don't really have an excuse not to lol Smiley smile

CB your pork and prawn dish sounds yummy! how did you make it?

H2B is on lates this weel, which generally means I eat crap at night.

Tonight, I have had 2 Picnics (the choc bars, not a hamper full of goodies! Lol) and that'll do for now. I might manage to do a cuppa soup later if hunger really strikes!

Last night, my lovely big sister cooked for me - and she did sausages wrapped in bacon, mash, cabbage, carrots and sprouts and it was divine!

Well I do like to put a lot of myself into my cooking, cutting my finger with the sharp knife whilst chopping up a carrot was not high on my list of "must do" jobs.

Dinner might be a little late tonight.

Slimming world bq sauce is easy. Sauté a finely chopped onion, add 200ml passata, 2 tsp mustard powder,1tsp chilli powder, 3tsp sweetener &plenty of balsamic vinegar. Season with salt & pepper. Takes about 15 mins, lovely with wedges& bacon & grated cheese.
