Mrs C, 27 November, 2010 at 13:56 Posted on Planning 0 13

How many of us are turning our hands to diy craftiness???

I am making all our stationary... invitations, placecards, orders of service, table plan, menus... our post box... our photo booth area... wine glass charms for the favours... cake topper... I'm sure there is more!!!

What are you lot making?

I found some fabulous ideas whilst googling... just don't fit with our theme... may help some of you...?

Teacup cake toppers...

I love those sheet music paper cones, would fit with our personalities, but that might be yet another idea to add to my theme and it might be a bit OTT mis-mash ?

Bit early to tell for definite, but we are hoping be making STDs and invites and the floral centrepieces and venue decorations ourselves.

I'm also going to have a go at making my own veil, and my mum will be making the BM dresses and our jackets/ boleros!

I am knitting shrugs for my bridesmaids, will get round to flashing them one day ?

I work in marketing and end up doing a lot of print and graphic design, so I designed our invites but had them printed professionally. Not sure if that counts as crafty!

I love the penguins! Is that a cake topper? It's soooo cute!!

We're going to make all of our stationery and our cakes (we're having cupcakes during the reception drinks, a 'normal' cake during the dinner and a novelty cake for the evening), our sweety station and the cookies for our favours/place names. Oh, and I forgot our Save The Dates, even though I'm in the middle of baking them!

Love the shell candles - would be fab for our theme but we're not allowed real flames in our venue ☹️ Oh well. I am doing practically everything bar the clothes and the food! I am making the bouquets, the table and room decorations, favours (if we have any) invites and all the other stationary, presents for BM, mums and so on, out postbox and party bags for the children who will be attending. I would have made the cake too but was worried I would be too stressed with that as well! So a friend is kindly making it! And H2B worders why I am starting making it all now!

Almost everything will be done by me, or my family or friends. I've remodelled my dress, decorated my shoes, made my veil and jewellery, done all stationery, cake toppers, flowers; family are making cake, playing organ and trumpet, singing, making cake.

in fact, apart from the buffet in the pub and the DJ, I don;t think we have a single external professional involved at all. Even the five clergy are all personal friends.
