Do I or don't I get balloons

MummyMoo82, 29 August, 2012 at 11:09 Posted on Planning 0 13

Ok, I am probably answering my own question on this, but i am trying to decide whether to have balloons at my venue in the evening. All over the ceiling in the dance floor bit? We are getting married, wedding breakfast and disco all in one room, so I really want it to be transformed.

This is the look I am going for

Now, it's going to cost about £100 to do this, so the question is, do we go for it or not?

Personally I wouldn't, the evening and music should be enough to make the room feel different-if you are having a band or dj when their lighting will also help!

    I wouldn't either. Use the £100 elsewhere.

Thanks laDies. It is a bit pricey, but looks great. Will just hold out for a lottery win. Have already got some inflatable guitars etc for people to play with so that should be enough!

Well obviously if that's the look you're going for, you're going to have to do it. However, you may find that as the day draws nearer, it will just be one of those things that's just "another thing to organise" and you'll decide it's too much hassle/money/bother. There were several things that I was originally going to do for our reception that I didn't bother with in the end, and it really didn't make much difference, plus of course no guests ever knew that there were things I hadn't done.

Balloons are great for kids parties, not weddings.

I'd save your money and spend it on something useful

Not a fan, sorry. The money can be put to better use.

I wouldn't want to. Balloons was one of the first things I put my foot down that I didn't want for my wedding. I think you could find better ways to spend £100.

We had a few balloons in the corner as they were included. I know its a cliché but I doubt you'll care on the actual day, save the money for something you will remember.

I agree too, spend your hard earned cash elsewhere - personally I think balloons can look a little cheap sometimes.

Im going to disagree with everyone else, i really like this it transforms the room, however the price of it sounds steep. if you have the money to do it and like it then GO for it. ?
