Dress decisions!

Chippet, 31 May, 2013 at 14:44 Posted on Planning 0 19

Hi, I've just been to try on dresses and fallen in love with two I've pasted in links of the dresses, can't work out how to put in photos, wondering if it doesn't work on my ipad?

How do you decide??

    BT13-24

    BT13-5

I prefer the first one, but have never been one for the strapless sweetheart thing.

Top one is gorgeous, second one is lovely also but I need the comfort of some kind of straps so I don't fear boobage accidents.

Agree, do like the second one but would be hoisting it up all day............the first one gets my vote

    Urgh. I just don't know!

I never thought I'd get a strapless cos I've got no boobs, but I loved the swish of the chiffon as it moved. However I love lace top on the first.

I didn't think it would be so hard!

I'm sure there are dresses out there that combine the two!

I prefer the first I think!

As an aside - you should never need to hoist up a well fitted strapless wedding dress.

The first one, definitely. The second one looks like loads of others - the first one is like nothing I have seen before. Stunning. The lace, and that ruching thing in the front with the belt is gorgeous.

Yep there probably is one out there that is a combination, but I'm in Cumbria and our choices of bridal shops is fairly limited and I'm desperately trying to plan our wedding on a reasonable budget, so have max of £700 for my dress (though my mum has since said she's paying). These two dresses I love are in the shop in my home town, so I won't even need to spend petrol money trailing back and forth for fittings etc. I know that might seem like a small thing, but costs add up.

The first one is what I consider a bit of a bargain at £549 and the second is virtually bang on budget at £699. I know what everyone means about the first being different to 'normal' When I first put it on i felt very excited and my mum welled up, then I tried on a couple of others, which I also liked, but were nothing special and then the second one. They are very different and I'm surprising myself I'm struggling so much!!

The first one gets my vote. I'm not a fan of strapless dresses.

I'm not normally one for strapless but I like the second one best. Could you add a lace bolero to make it less 'standard'?

So many dresses are strapless, I prefer the first. As to how you decide, trying them on again ?

I like the first one best by miles.

Also if you were excited trying that one on and it made your Mum well up then it's at least worth going back to give it another try!

Thanks all. Seems like number 1 is most popular and I've decided it is the one for me!!

The second one is lovely but thinking back, I can't really remember how it looked, just that the chiffon skirt 'felt nice'. Also after considering other strapless dresses I've worn, as a bridesmaid, I've had to be so tightly 'strapped in' to feel secure, that by the end of the night I've felt uncomfortable and on an occasion I was really sore the next day! That isn't the point and obviously want to be really comfy.

Plus cos the first dress is cheaper, I can put the money towards a hair piece, shoes and maybe a veil (which I hadn't wanted til I put one on this afternoon!!) Smiley laugh

    Exciting!!
