end of the night exit music

18 June, 2012 at 09:42 Posted on Planning 0 23

First of all; fellow 23rd June brides - 5 DAYS TO GO!!!!!!!!!! ?

Sorry I've not been around much, I have been lurking but just so so busy I've not had any time to post here Smiley sad

But, now I'm in full on wedding planning and nothing but mode! And I'm filling out the form for our DJ about what tracks we want. We'd agreed on everything except the music that we're going to leave to at the end of the night. We're having our guests for a long archway for us to run through and out to our taxi, so it has to be something upbeat and "yay, we're married".

I had suggested "Walking on Sunshine", not because it's my favourite song in the world ever but it seems right for the mood but apparently, according to OH, it's "too gay".

So - your mission - is to think of and suggest me suitable tracks that are quite heterosexual (?????)

If anyone else is having a similar exit I would love to hear what you're having!

We're thinking of having Joe Cocker - Get by with a little from my friends, we were watching the Woodstock DVD on Friday and the live version is amazing and its a great song and kind of thanks everyone for making your day special and all that soppy stuff (without being too soppy)!

Good luck for 5 days time! x

You're the one that I want? Or whatever it's called, the one at the end of Grease when they fly off in the car.

I want to watch Grease now.

Said it on FB but Wannadies You and Me Song would be my choice.

Or Happy Together by the Turtles.

I love all of these suggestions, especially Happy Together.

H2B being Scottish and wedding being in Scotland, I'm told Loch Lomond is the required ending. Lovely song but makes me really sad and teary which is NOT what I need at the end of our wedding, especially as there will be people over for the wedding that we won't see for a long time again.

Just as well I have time to work on him... maybe insisting on The Fields of Athenry will sort him out.

We had an impromptu archway to leave through and the DJ played "Celebration" (Kool and ther Gang?) Worked very well for us.

We're having New York New York as our exit song as it was always played at the end of a club night I used to go to at Uni.

My auntie requested the one from the end of Grease - We'll always be together.

I thought that would be a great 1st dance song but I will most definately not get a certain someones approval...he may however let me have it as a last song...

We also plan to be the last to leave... They may actually have to drag me off the dance floor (and it wouldn't be the first time!) We were thinking of the Friends theme tune or The Wannadies -You and Me, but we'll probably change our minds by then!

If I was going to do that at end I would defintely go for 'Don't stop me now' by Queen. Its a complete classic, happy, I think quite 'straight'?

We're from Scotland so it's definitely Loch Lomond. I've been told by someone else that in Scotland that's how you know when to go home!!

snap, it was suggested by our DJ as apparently it works really well at the end of the night. Our other option was Take That - Greatest Day.

I'd love this but there's no way my OH would agree and I think we'll have to have Loch Lomond.

"So long farewell" from The Sound of Music? ? Maybe too "gay"

    That's Amore by Dean Martin

Meatloaf - Bat out of hell

    Journey - Don't stop believing

Sam Cook - Twisting the night away

I have just heard this song on the radio and it made me think of this post, so much so that I looked up the song to post it on here as a good ending song!
