Entrance Song - Please Help!

Kitles123, 4 March, 2012 at 21:20 Posted on Planning 0 26

Hello,

Looking for advice as this is stressing me out. Have a few ideas, what's you opinions? Appreciate your thoughts!

1) Heartland - I Love Her First (OH thinks this sounds too Country, Mum loves this and says it's the best choice)

2) Adele - Make You Feel My Love

3) Charlene Soraia - Wherever You Will Go (Love this song but isn't this more about losing someone you love???)

If you have a great entrance song, would love to hear what it is?

Thank you x

I'm having classical so can't help on the modern side but of the one's you've mentioned I hate the Heartland one, sorry. Think it's a cheesefest.

Really like Make you Feel my love and prefer The Calling version of Wherever you will go.

I'm having the warblers version of Katy perry's teenage dream - sounds odd I know but I have had it cut to take out certain lines and it's a slow acoustic version. Plus I just love the words, you think I'm pretty without any make up on, you think I'm funny when I tell the punch line wrong..... I'm so excited.

Out of your choices I prefer the Adele song.

We're having I'll always be right there by Bryan Adams.

Well I heard Katy Perry's version and my OH said, I think you pretty without your make up on and you always tell the punch line wrong so I listened to the song and loved it - a friend told me about the Glee version and they sing it so well. My BM's walk down to the first 2 verses, ive cut the 'lets go all the way etc... Starts again on ' we can dance until we die' and cuts out again on 'you make me feel like a teenage dream' verse and i walk in on 'my heart stops when you look at me' till don't ever look back. However whilst cutting the song I had to listen to it a million times but hearing it all as one is amazing. I so can't wait as m OH doesn't know, it's a surprise Smiley smile

Adele was one of my choices too until I listened to the lyrics. The line " I know you haven't made your mind up yet" troubles me. We are walking in to Hear, There and Everywhere by the Beatles. Not a famous one of theirs, but I love it Smiley smile

Out of the three I like Adele, although it does tend to be quite overdone at the minute.

I love the Adele - actually it's a Bob Dylan song really. And I'm seriously considering changing my choices - I've got a pianist/violinist called Simon Jordan playing for my ceremony and reception, I wonder if it will work on those instruments?

I'm coming in to a choral version of 'You really got me' by the Kinks - I love it!!

I think I've found with all the music we've chosen there were lots of things that logically seemed right and we liked the songs but the 'right' ones just had a gut feeling about - an emoptional reaction to the song and using in in our day, IYSWIM

I'm having the glasgow love theme to walk in on.

sorry to say but the charlene soraia version of weherever you will go annoys me coz she cant say her r's properly and ends up saying" wherewever you will go. " calling verion is better in my opinion.

Adele would be lovely. my friends had it as their first dance. very romantic. x

Omg im having heartland - I loved her first :-)!!! absolutely love this song even though i dont like country music but it has so much meaning and is such an ideal song for a father giving his daughter away! although we might be booking an accousitic (sp) singer who plays guitar to play/sing this whilst we walk down the eisle to so will prob take that countryness off. Where did you hear this from? im only asking because is never heard it until i joined hitched. I literally cant listen to this song without crying as my dad was diagnosed with cancer in oct (he had a tumour growing outside his kidney which was removed within 2 weeks - touch wood hes ok now!!) but it has been a huge eye opener for us all so when i heard this song i just melted! me and my dad have said we want everyone crying as we walk in when they hear the words lol ;-) xxx

We're having Jon Allen, In Your Light.

We didn't have a song which we considered to be ours until we sat in a bar in York being generally soppy and this came on - we both loved it, and loved it more once we paid attention to the lyrics.

The aisle is very very short so we'll just have it fading in and then out again!

We are having something a little unusual but it holds great meaning - both because we love the music but also the name of the track, where it was used and in what context etc.

The track is Forbidden Friendship, composed by John Powell. It is used on the soundtrack to How to Train Your Dragon.

With our Phoenix/Dragon theme, our own story (how we met and the friendship we forged despite so much opposition) and the fact that it is simply a stunning and very dramatic piece of music for us (Junior Groomsman and separately two adult best girls/bridesmaids plus me!) to walk into made it the perfect choice for us. And I've timed it - it will take all four minutes of the track for the four of us to do the walk (which involves a rockery!) as we will be leaving a space between each person.

We'll be walking out to another piece from the same film called Romantic Flight. All the same reasons really (but it's a lot shorter!).

We've kept this well under wraps and will just wait to see if anyone recognises the pieces. I suspect my young nieces might but probably few if any of the older guests. I think they'll love it because it was just feel right. (And no, we're not having a Disney wedding or anything like that! lol)

Out of the three it would have to be Adele,

We are having Etta James 'At Last' as we have been together 10 years and no one ever thought we would get engaged, let alone married! When we told everyone OH had proposed they all said 'At Last'.

(Some actually said Finally, but I'm not sure I want to walk down the aisle to CeeCee Peniston Finally!!!)

I've been asked to sing Wherever You May Go at a friend of a friends wedding and the words ae SO inappropriate for the occasion! Is about a break up but apparently it's "their song" so am planning to sing it is if it's a love song and hope nobody listens too hard to the words... Do love the Adele song though.

Better Together by Jack Johnson is nice if you want something less solemn.
