Favours

xmasbride11, 10 August, 2011 at 21:39 Posted on Planning 0 22

Please can you guys show me what you're having for favours?? I was thinking of having plain white cube boxes with ribbon and then name tags on (therefore doubling up as place cards) and filled with sugar almonds or some kind of chocolates. I think that'd be fairly inexpensive (trying to keep costs down). Would love to see pics of anything you're all having!

Can't flash as they haven't been made yet, but we will be making jars of jam.

I am having small terracotta plant pots with a bag of compost wrapped in coloured netting and a small bag on top full of seeds they can plant in the pot or the garden. Hard to explain but we are making them this weekend so I will flash when they are done :-)

We didnt have favours. My 5 year old was rushed into sheffield childrens hospital back in april, they was so great, they saved my baby boys life. so instead we thought it would be nice to make a donation in everyones names rather than buy sweets or trinkets none of our family or friends would have wanted! they all said it was a lovely idea x

Haven't a clue what we're giving our day guest, but all our guests will be getting hand warmers for our evening fireworks display.

We also have some love hearts and personalised wrappers to put on them.

We had ivory boxes with gold chocolate hearts inside. The ribbon matched our stationery and cake.

We have bought some pink boxes off ebay which I;m going to pretty up with ribbon & roses. We have bought some tea lights from Unicef & made a donation so each guest will get a tea light in the box with a little slip of paper explaining that we have made a donation to provide water for 500 (I think!) children in Africa. I have also bought some mini love hearts & will be sticking an extra sleeve around them with our names, wedding date & a pink silk rose as our theme is pink roses.

After seeing it on here I mentioned to OH that I wanted to make some skittles vodka and he said 'we should do that for our favours'. I'm not sure yet to be honest.

This is just a prototype! I'm going to fill them with heart shaped sweets and maybe have big luggage tags around the tops to double up as name cards. I got the jars off ebay very cheap!

We're having charity pins to support 2 charities very close to our hearts.

Breast cancer pins for the ladies, in memory of my gran who died of breast cancer 2 years ago, and Kidney research for the men, in memory of H2b's mum and uncle who both had kidney faliure, and died.

Thought it would be a nice way to remember them, and support the charities ?

Our favours are going to be boxes of handmade chocolates which are going to follow our city theme by having pictures of our favourite landmarks from the city the person is sat at! (our table names are of the world cities we have visited!)

We are also having childrens goody bags for the children and our sweetie table is going to have sweets traditional to our countries Smiley smile

Thanks - we just thought that sometimes the favours get left on the tables, and so we would rather have donated to something important to us and that way if they get left it doesn't really matter, as the money went to a good cause.

Yes we are doing it for children too, but we only have about 6 going, and most of them will be about 12 years or older so are old enough for them. We do have one 3year old coming so will be getting him something different though.

We are also doing this. The ladies are having Cancer Research ones, and the men will be having Hospice ones. Both charities are close to quite alot of people that are attending the wedding, and since my cosuin died last year in a hospice due to cancer, it felt right to do it.
