A few family members have asked me to ADD them, and i don't really want to cos i see fb as a place to catch up with friends and talk about things that i don't want my family knowing about ............. but if i dont add them they'll think im being odd

Depends on who they are/your relationship and what you use facebook for. I am friends with my brother but wouldn't be with my mother if she were ever to venture in to FB territory. I speak to her almost everyday and have no secrets but it would just seem a bit odd for me I think.

I have siblings, niece and cousins on my friend list. Should my mother ever sign up I'd not want to add her.

It doesn't bother me. I'm actually more bothered by having some members of my staff on there than family. It doesn't restrict what I write but if it did I'd set the privacy settings so they couldn't see everything.

Thank god my mother isn't technically minded ha ha

I guess its just me being pathetic but I have cousins on there that are maybe 20 yrs older that have been posting embarrassing photos of me when i was little, i guess i need to get over it!!!

Think you should only put current pix up but thats my opinion, hope your not all gonna flame me for this

Bobbi, you do know you can un-tag yourself? And when you have, they can't tag you again. I love looking at old pictures on Facebook. Friends of mine from infants school have put up class photos from reception and year 3. It's fab! Love asking current friends to guess which one is me.

I have some of H's cousins on there, mainly because they're really lovely people and as they live in England we don't see them much so it's an ideal way to keep in touch more. I've just had a friend request from my sil which i'm delibrately doing nothing with at the moment, it's not that i don't like her but we have different ideas about things and i'm not sure i can trust her not to report back to the inlaws about every little thing I post on there.

I'm aware it's my problem but for now i'm happier having many more friends than family on facebook.

They really can't. I discovered this with a photo of a uni friend. Saw it wasn't tagged, which was odd, so I tried to tag it and it wouldn't work. Turned out I had tagged it when I uploaded it and she'd un-tagged, meaning it now can't be tagged as her again.

My Dad added me as a friend last week. I haven't accepted yet but I know he's noticed and will think I'm rude. Aargh.
