fingers crossed bridesmaid dress success! *flash*

erincat, 14 September, 2012 at 12:28 Posted on Planning 0 16

I am having 4 bridesmaids, all living in different cities, Glasgow, Newcastle, London & Portsmouth. Finding bridesmaid dresses in a shop was never going to work as unlikely to have them all together so I went for the online option.

Decided to order 1 & was sent to my fussiest bridesmaid who seems to like it just needs taking in a little. Now all I need is the other 3 to like it too!

Heres a pic, what do you hitchers think?

I saw them on www.sexyher.co.uk after reading about the site on here.

    They are a bargain @ £75!

    That's gorgeous! Really love it.

It's hard isn't it, out of 5 bridesmaids, 1 lived in Sheffiled, 1 in Coventry, 1 in Germany and 1 in Holland, and I like in Kent! So I got ours online and posted them all over the place!

    Lovely!!!

I bought mine off internet too and found it less stressful than going to a shop with 7 of them!

I absolutely love yellow but not everyones cup of tea, hence purple being the main colour, I will sneaklily get in as much yellow as possible though ?

Well you could include lemon or a soft lime to offset the yellow as well ? Anyway,it's your choice so don't worry about whether anyone else likes it ! x

Quackers - Yes I think so, the bridesmaid that got it is my sister so she wouldnt be shy of saying Smiley winking

I had thought I their dresses would be £200ish each, so this is a good wee saving!

This is beautiful, i love it! My BM is amazing but she really hates ordering online as her shape can make her size vary from an 8-12. i totally understand how she feels but have seen some dresses on sale online and when I 've mentioned it she said she would just prefer to go and try stuff on. I'm hoping to have a day of trying stuff on in the xmas sales. Glad you've found yours. it really is lovely. x

These are great, have just sent a pic to my MOH to see if she likes them. They are the kind of thing that probably could be worn again which is nice.

Are you going to order by size or made to measure? My problem is that both of my both of my BM's are pregnant and due in the next few weeks so I cant do made to measure for a good few months and the dresses may have gone by then, should I just buy their pre baby size or a size up and get it altered?

That was one of the things I wanted - the dresses to be worn again. I was bridesmaid for 1 of my sisters a few years ago & the dress has been hanging in a wardrobe ever since!

As for sizing I dont know what would be best, as I havent seen it in the flesh. Going by what my sister said & the photos she sent me I think standard sizing would be fine for any post baby tummies but my concern would be the boob area, shes is a size 8 & a D cup and the dress was fine on her but the description does say "Padded & boned bra"

Sorry thats probably not much help x

I have just shown this dress to my MOH and she has given it the approval. I have decided to go slightly bigger on the sizes than I would pre baby just so that any alterations can be made if they lose the weight. My BM has very similar measurements to your sister so it will probably be fine to wear with no bra or just a non padded strapless one if necessary.

My BM dress from my MOH's wedding is still sat in my wardrobe doing nothing and it seems a shame to spend tons of money on something for it never to be seen again.
