Following on from the Oooh pretty thread...

I'm looking for one round cake storage tin, a square one and possibly a biscuit tin. I've seen the Emma Bridgewater polka dot ones but wonder if there's anything else out there that I may have missed that is gorgeous. Cost - well up to the EB ones I guess, colours / patterns - fairly plain or small pattern (like the dots) but any colour. Not floral or animals if poss - quite like the starry skies pattern on EB but they don't do the tins!

Any other info needed please ask!

TIA!

They have some really funky ones at B&M home stores near me with cakes on them. I also got some spotty ones from a Tesco extra about a year ago.

I looked in my local tesco yesterday - they had none at all! Unbelievable. What's B&M home stores then - have I missed that in my search?

Do you not have any old fashioned kitchen stores at all? They are great for cake tims (and everything else that you could possibly imagine!)

Failing that, Matalan did have lovely ones in last time I was in there (but that was a while ago)

    Hmm Matalan - now there's a thought!

Thanks Taffie for that website - I do like the Charlie and Lola ones and my daughter would love them but they don't do it for me if that makes sense.

Thanks Bowski for the offer - I may take you up on that!

    No problem.

If you send me your email address I'll take some photos when I go next week. I think they were less than £8 (I'm thinking £4 but might be wrong) for 2 one big and one smaller.

    My email is ******@********.***

Mine are from Morrisons and were about 4 pounds for a set of 3. They are pink and cream with muffins on them.

I love looking in independant cook shops, they are like aladdin caves and I always come home with something my husband tells me is not at all useful but at least I have one, right? There is a cookshop in Salisbury that had some nice cake tins in the other week, red and white polka dot, and some with farm animals on etc, whether they are to your taste or not, and indeed, you may not be able to get to Salisbury. Google independant shops in your area too. Good luck!

I saw some nice ones in Robert Dyas, I was making up a breakfast in bed tray for my brother and his girlfriend at christmas and was tempted to buy some but we dont make cakes so it would have been a waste

We have a Home Sense by us, it's owned by TK Maxx and they have lots of this sort of thing. Might be worth a look in TK Maxx or Home Sense if you have either near you.

I really want a pretty cake stand but until we get a pretty house to put it in i've been told 'no' ?

Thanks to everyone for their searching for me. It has now been agreed that if I can wait a little bit I can have my Emma Bridgewater ones (he was ranting about costs because he thought it was £30 for just one and of course it's not).
