Gosh, that title sounds a bit stalkerish ? Good morning everyone, hope you're all well today. Good morning everyone, hope you're all well today. Even though I've been on Hitched for erm, 11 years now, I don't feel like I really know anybody over here on WP. I've made lots of good friends on OT and BT but being relatively new back on to the planning scene I haven't had chance to get to know you lovely ladies (and the occasional gent).

So, would anybody like to be my friend? ? If you fancy saying good morning that would be lovely. If you fancy telling me a bit about yourself that would be even better - helps a little bit to put a character to a user name if you know what I mean.

I'm Jo, getting married in July next year (my 2nd wedding) and I have two gorgeous sons. My eldest is 5 and the youngest was 1 in June. I work in a college in a job I love but I'm dreaming of getting my cake business up and running officially so I have an excuse never to leave Hitched ?

Hi! Yes, its really exciting but life also goes on relatively normally too. I have yet to do.... confirm and pay florist, take in net underskirt ( diet has worked!), finish sugar roses, make all sugar hearts, I have a bit of edible gold leaf for red hearts, never used it before so I'll see how it goes.., make jewellry as pressies for x6 BM, make 100+ cup cakes, put together party bags

The children have been involved with the plans from the start and are excited about different things, for my 3 yo son its the disposable camera he can have all to himself, my 4 yo son its the sweety bar, 6 yo son Hugh, its doing the music with the adult Hugh, and my 9 yo daughter its seeing all her friends and wearing the new dress with all the sequins!!

I just want the day to run smoothly and everyone enjoy themselves!

Hi Jo, nice to meet you, and I'm so impressed you have kept up the individual replies!

Nice to hear more about some regular names too.

I'm not a regular poster ? but I'm Amy, 28 getting married to my lovely D (also 28) next may when we'll be spending a week at our favourite place in the world, the Isles of Scilly (just off the Cornish coast) with 22 of our very favourite people. Very relaxed day, morning ceremony followed by a day on the beach and keeping all digits crossed for good weather! Let hope the whole of next summer is great for all of our 2012 weddings.

I currently study away from home during the week training to be a dr, but can't wait to be back living with D everyday as soon as I'm qualified (Aug 2013- dont get ill if you can help it that week!)

I am most happy with a night in with my man, my house rabbit, a big glass of red and hideous amounts of dark chocolate!

Hice to meet you Jo! I've been on hitched about 4 years now I think, originally as a bride to be, but then as a HIB! Got married in Santorini in Sept 2009.

Best of luck with your planning xx

I'm birdboo and I'm getting married 9th June to my fantastic H2B. I proposed to him last September on a walk home from the pub although he thinks we got engaged in November after Bonfire Night ?

We are getting married at Keele Hall after both of us met and apparently studied at Keele University. It's going to be a laid back casual untraditional affair and I'm sooo excited. June can't come soon enough.

    Hi, i'm Claire ?

I'm 23 and my fiance proposed in April this year, whilst at the Great Barrier Reef in Australia after a helicopter flight over the reef! We are now planning your wedding for 20th April 2013, which seems so far away at the moment, but everyone keeps telling me it will come round quickly! I hope it does, although I am enjoying the planning!

So far we have booked the church, venue at Longstowe Hall in Cambridgeshire, and the photographer.

    Good Evening PP,

I'm Hawk (mix of our initials) and I am getting married 7th Sept 2012. We have a 6 year old son. I work in HR for a large Transport company and love my job.

Our wedding has a NY theme as this is where OH proposed.

    Lovely idea for a thread.

Good morning! I am mostly happy, and I like camping! Although wedding planning is proving to be one of the most stressful things I have ever done and I keep reminding myself it is supposed to be about being happy...

I'm 30-something, most people think H2B is about my age, but actually he is 12 years older. He's seen me through some difficult times already, so I know he is my rock. First time marriage for both of us - no kids on either side and no plans for any. When people ask us about the possibility of the patter of tiny feet following the wedding we nod and say we'll probably get a puppy.

Good afternoon PP, and what a good thread.

I have been lurking on hitched since May, (engaged in April after 2 years together, 35 and 39, first timers, no little ones) and have got lots of good ideas and tips from here. But I am v guilty of lurking, and so in my final three months of planning I hope to do a bit more interacting. (Not least because I expect I may be asking for advice on a few things).

My wedding is in a beautiful old barn near Thame in November this year. I have a long list of jobs which I am slowly working through, and so far I am enjoying every minute of planning. Current tasks are shoes (not overly impressed with bridal shoe choices tbh) and getting someone to do hair and make-up.

Been meaning to reply to this for days now, but this last week has been a bit mad and hectic. Apparently, all B2Bs turn into different people within their last few weeks as a single person. I'm living proof!

Anyhow, I'm Trudy, 41yrs old, first time for me, but 3rd time for OH.

I'm ex Royal Navy, he's still serving in the RAF, although he has been in for 24yrs, and waiting to see if he gets redundancy or not.
I spent my 20's and 30's travelling the world, working on the cruise liners (once I left the RN) so no time for long term relationships. As you can see from my ticker, I'm tying the knot in less than 2 weeks. We've been engaged about 18 months now, so this day has been a while coming.

We've been together for 6 1/2yrs. He has two teenage girls from his first marriage, who visit every other weekend, they're my bridesmaids. We live in Lincoln with 2 mad springer spaniels and a cat.

Hopefully everything will run smoothly for the big day, and the hiccups that I've experienced this last week are all over and done with.

Hello, I'm LottaVictualia, 29, and I am getting married next July. It will be a week day wedding and will hopefully be the highlight of a week that we spend with 40 guests in a big house on Dartmoor. It's gonna be a fairly relaxed affair with lots of DIY.

    Hey everyone,

I'm Mellow_Yellow and I got engaged on holiday in Italy on 7th September 2010. We were hoping for our wedding on 17th September this year, as the date was sentimental and it falls on a Saturday this year, but our venue had no availability. The first Saturday the had was November 2011, which was too wintery for us, so we opted for 12th May 2012 as a random date. I am actually secretly quite glad now, as I think I would not have been able to organise everything in time, had the wedding been taking place in four weeks - not to mention that we have an extra eight months worth of saving this way...which we will certainly need!

I work full time, and study a full time curriculum in the evening - which basically means that I currently have no life! I go to Body Pump classes two - three times a week and thoroughly enjoy it, I love to read, listen to music, go to the cinema, and lie in baths full of Lush goodness. Long term, we plan to emigrate to New Zealand, which requires me to finish my degree first. I'm also considering doing a one-year PGDE in primary school teaching - although life is very much up in the air at the moment...KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON...is the current state of affairs.

I love Hitched, although don't get as much time as I would like to post on here, and often feel like a bad Hitcher who only posts when she needs something.

    Think that's it from me...

    Over and Out!

    Hi there,

This is a great thread, its nice to know a bit about everyone and hopefully make some friends along the enjoyable but sometimes stressful WP journey! I've been engaged to my OH for nearly 5 years and we have been together 14 years in total - Uni Sweethearts lol!! Due to boring financial reasons we have been putting off getting married but now we are all set and booked for 19th May 2012 and I cant wait. I am becoming slightly obsessed with planning but hopefully once the main things are sorted I can relax and enjoy the rest.

I work in Glasgow in cancer research and my OH is a very talented joiner/builder/anything else - he is annoyingly good at everything although it means our house benefits!

We are getting married in a wee church in Scotland and then having a marquee wedding reception and I am pretty much making as much as possible myself in a bid to save pennies!! Unfortunately I'm not quite as creative as I would have myself believe and so it could all go horribly wrong!

Well I think thats about it for me!

Hope to see some of you around here again soon!
