guest books and cake toppers

Lofty86, 10 May, 2012 at 19:05 Posted on Planning 0 21

Hi All,

just needed some inspiration on guest books and cake toppers.

Where are you all getting yours from? Any flashes would be welcome!

Thanks

We dressed a venue last month and this was their cake topper. I loved it so had to take a photo! Their son walked his mum down the aisle and gave her away so they wanted to include him in their topper.

It was made by Lilys Creations

    Hope this helps Smiley smile

Toppers coming from Googly Gifts and guest book from darcieweddings.co.uk - she was great as we had to change the date and she did it for nothing.

We haven't picked a guest book yet, but we finally settled on a cake topper we both liked! It took us ages as all the ones we liked were either sugar or gumpaste so we wouldn't be able to keep them - this one can be an ornament after the wedding Smiley smile

I can't flash as I don't have them yet but my cake topper is from a lady called Jane Finnedty on eBay, very reasonably priced too. My guest book is also from Darcie weddings but it's at my ffil's house so I won't see it until the day! That also was a good price and you can personalise it with different coloured ribbons or decorations.

I dont have a pic of either, but I'd avoid the 'wedding topper workshop'. I got personalised toppers from them.

From a distance, they looked fine. Close up, they were dreadful. Finger prints all over the clay, flecks of brown clay on the faces & arms, mismatched beads, crudely cut clay etc. I sent pics of my exact bouquet, but despite this, the clay ones were made in green/white with brown tips. (the bouquet in the photo had pink & white flowers!!!)

After initial good communication, I heard nothing for weeks. Eventually got an email saying she was on holiday & to stop emailing her! I had only sent 2 emails & she never said she would be away for weeks!

Maybe she was having a bad time, & she did offer a part refund, but I'd never use again.

Our guest book is being made by our TOG. We get a free 'engagement' shoot and then she uses the images from that to put into a photo book along with rules pages for people to write in. This is one she did for another couple:

And this is an example of our personalised cake topper too.

I bought these at the weekend and I love them! I
really want to use them as my cake topper but they really dont go with my theme so might have to find another place for them but they will definitely be involved somewhere!

That cake topper is fantastic! I wasn't wanting to spend that much on a cake topper but I'm really tempted to splash out now...

We aren't having a cake topper but out cake maker is making a floral display which will match my bouquet out of sugar craft for the top. Not something I wanted as I am not big on flowers but she started the other week and they are truly beautiful and the cake will have a trail of leaves from top to bottom (theme autumn) and I think the flowers will finish it off.

For a guest book we have a photobooth which I hope will go down well but we have a fingerprint tree which I absolutly love, it is similar to this:

I can then frame it and hang it in our house, where as a guest book would just be put away.

For the guest book I am putting together a box with lots of stickers, pens, glue dots and a polariod camera. The idea is for the guests to take pictures of each other and then stick it in the guest book and write a message. I haven't got the budget for a photo booth so its the next best thing!!

I have 2 young daughters who love Sylvanian family ... so for the cake topper I am having the Sylvanian family bride and groom with 2 little rabbit flower girls! I am even attempting to make little dresses for them like my FG's on the day
