Help please on honeymoon

Kate22, 16 September, 2013 at 13:34 Posted on Honeymoons & Getting Married Abroad 0 5

We have decided to go to New York on our honeymoon for 4-5 nights, the we were thinking about going to Miami after that for 10 nights. However on speaking to a few people they said that there is not much to do in Miami.

So we then decided to go New York, Canada then Miami.

My question is do you think this is too much for 2 weeks?

Can anyone suggest anywhere else close by to either New York or Miami that we could go to other than travelling from new York to Canada.

(New York is a definite and we wanted to do it first then have a relaxing time after somewhere but with things to do in case we get bored)

Thanks

We wanted to do something similar but in August. In the end we did 5 nights in New York ( having never been there we wanted a fair few days to get things done!) then 8 nights in a place called Huntington Beach which is in California. Huntington was absolutely gorgeous although there are other towns nearby that you could stay in. We hired a car and spent days at universal Studios and visiting Hollywood and the walk of fame as well as some short drives to local beaches and towns. There is also Disney, and LA to visit if you wanted to. It took us just under an hour to get to Universal Studios and Hollywood from Huntington. It was perfect as we spent days at the beach, ate at some lovely restaurants but also had a couple of days out.

Downside is that it is a 6 hour-ish flight from New York, but to be honest that didn't really bother us. We then flew back direct fro LAX to the UK.

I have heard from a friends husband who goes to Miami with work regularly that there isn't much to do in Miami. To me going to New York, Canada and Miami does sound a bit much. How about Boston (nice place, fair amount to do and not far from New York), Vegas (lots to do and weather is pretty much guaranteed) or Orlando / St Peterburg which are not too far apart?

I agree Boston is supposed to be lovely and you could get there from NYC by train before going onto Canada, could you maybe even hire a car and drive to Canada? But maybe that won't give as much time for relaxing?

Alternatively. I would do NYC and Caribbean, maybe Aruba, for the relaxing part after hectic Manhattan.
