Hen weekend recommendations in here please!!

Pinky6, 17 August, 2011 at 16:34 Posted on Planning 0 12

I am wanting to go somewhere for 2 nights in the UK.

Good night life is a must, was thinking of possibly going to the theatre for the oldies then some sort of pamper day in the daytime then off out again at night.

Anyone got any recommendations as to where to go??

TIA xx

    Hiya twinny!

Well for mine, I think I have decided to go to a spa day in Kent (where I come from, and where most of my friends and family live). Then for a meal out.

Are your guests willing to travel? How much are they will to spend?I have chosen to have it where they live so they wont have to spend too much coming upto where I live, plus if they cant afford the day spa then they can just come to the meal out.

Most of us are from the Midlands and as there really isn't much to do round here so travelling shouldn't be a problem. I was thinking of around £150 plus travel and as we all drive I guess we could just car share. Then if some didn't want to spend that much then they could just come for the 2nd night maybe.

I was originally thinking London but now I am wondering if somewhere like Brighton or Blackpool might be more fun and maybe cheaper? I know this probably rules out the theatre idea but thats fine. As I have never been to any of these places I was hoping for some advice or recommendations!

I love Brighton, but it wont be cheap! (but then not as expensive as London, but how much longer and how much more fuel will you use to get there?)

Never been to Blackpool so cant comment on there. London will be expensive, but I do love going there.

Sharing the car is a good idea, its what I will do for any of my friends/OH's family up here. Good way to keep costs down for you/guests.

Sorry I cant be much help!

I just had my hen weekend in Liverpool 2 nights in Mal Maison, Friday night cocktail masterclass at revolution, Saturday a trip on the yellowduckmarine (AMAZING and definitely a winner with all!!), tea party afternoon at a suite in the hotel, dinner at wagamamas (which was extra) and then out to the clubs (definitely recommend alma de cuba club) oldies and those preggers went back to hotel after this we went on and strolled in at 4am!!! We all paid 170 smackers. xx

Thats a good price for all that! Can I ask where you booked that?

What did you think to Liverpools night life? This is another possible destination but I have been out once or twice there and didn't think much too it

My sister lives up near there and kinda booked it all individually and by doing that think she managed to get good discounts (we were a party of 15). I really love Liverpool, Heebie Jeebies is another really fun club for dancing. When we were in there my pregnant friend had a funny turn and everyone was really good about getting out of the way so we could get her out and the bouncers were all lovely about getting her into a cab. I think Liverpool has such a mixed reputation and I have got a friend who had a bad experience but it was good that my sister and a friend who lives there knew all the right places to go. I know Matthew St is nice during the day but not for night and the docks are not brilliant at night either if that helps!

Let me know if you want anymore info. ?

Four of us went to York a couple of months ago. We got 2 nights stay in Marriott Hotel, with one spa treatment, breakfast both mornings and 3 course dinner both evenings for £185 each. Bargain. Got on a couple of guest lists for fab bars, no queuing and straight into the vip areas. ad a fab w-end.

    Hi there,

Just wanted to add that Liverpool is a great night out! I have been there many a time, as I only live about 15 miles away. There are some great bars down at Liverpool docks. If you're after a more club atmosphere then try Concert Square- it's full of clubs and cocktails bars! You can get some good deals on hotels in the city too.

I did Blackpool. There are shows you can see. We went to Funny girls which was amazing and all the older ones loved it. In the day time we had pleasure beach ticket but with these there are shows you can see at no extra cost. (we didn't, we did the rides)

It was brilliant as the whole town is geared up for stag/hen dos so there is no issue getting in places or getting a hotel (some hotels in cities will not take large same sex groups)
