Hey everyone,

firstly congratulations to everyone so far.

well last week whilst on holiday the boyfriend proposed and of course i said yes.

Where do I start I have no idea where to start, and to make things a little harder the other half is in the forces, so I will be doing this on my own basically!!!

So any advice that antone can give I would really appreciate it, we are thinking of next year, july - september time.

I have brought some wedding magazines amd i have been looking at venues but this area is expensive lol.

Thanking you all

x

Hey, congratulations on your engagement. You'll find lots of good opinions and idea's on here, always nice to have other brides opinions! As for venues you can get lovely venues on the cheaper side and just work your magic yourself. We're getting married in a hotel and it's a little dated, but hopefully once I've put my mark on it it'll be transformed....well I'm hoping lol x

Hello and welcome to Hitched ? I would say to get a venue sorted soon, a lot of places may be booked up and July - September is a busy time for weddings so this may dictate your date to you. I would then look at the other big things like TOG and flowers as the good ones get booked up quickly too!

Good luck and you will soon be addicted to Hitched!!

    Hi,

    Congratulation's on your engagement ?

First thing to do is work out what your maximum budget is for your special day. find your venue, then check availability of that date with the registrar or priest/vicar, then every thing will fall into place.

    Good luck

    Congratulations and Welcome to Hitched!

Depending on your budget, you may need to compromise, so before you set your heard on a venue, download one of the budget planners and get some estimated prices of other services.

One you start adding in Tog, Entertainment, Catering, Rings, Dresses, Suit Hire, and even invites, you'll see what I mean.

Its no good blowing your budget on an expensive venue if everything else is budget.

If the budget is stretched, you can then prioritise. We've had to do this for our wedding - we didn't want to borrow money, so we're in a modest venue, but spending money on the things that matter to us.

    First off congratulations,

Probably your best bet then should be to sort out your budget first, I had so many disappointments when people told me the price for things. You could look at cricket clubs, town halls etc, i know someone that is using a posh school in their area as their reception venue.

i hope all your planning goes well XXXXXXXXXX
