I have 3 tattoo's one on my back which i am most certainly getting covered up for the day i have one on my left wrist and one on the side of my left hand...not sure if there's anything i can do to cover it up for where it is...or even if i should cover it up at all, so what are all the other brides...

so what are all the other brides doing (if you have tattoo's) #

To cover or not to cover!!

Also have a scar on the back of my right hand due to an operation

i'm thinking a bracelet or something to cover this

Sorry for the pointlessness of this post but i'm bored

Exactly - if you're going to go for that style, you've got to rock the look the whole way!

JST, LOVING your tat. Mine will be on show. My half sleeve is still unfinished (same reason as Miss - pregnancy), but as i'll be dropping the sprog before we're hitched, i'm hoping to have it finished before the "big day".

My tat determined certain aspects of our theme for our now, very small and informal wedding, so would be stupid to cover it up.

I had my tats for particular reasons, and i'm proud of them. OH will be wearing a short sleeved shirt to show off his tats too. His opinion is "I paid 2 grand for all these, why the effing hell would I cover them up?"which is a very good point.

Also loving Ditas dress, i'd love to have the figure to pull that off. I'll stick to my black bin bag of a dress...

    Long story short:

On a thread some time ago about brides with tattoos, someone posted " I think tattoos make all women look like chavvy slappers" so now whenever a 'tattoo' thread comes up someone has to point out, tongue in cheek, that we are all chavvy slappers (and proud!). The lady who made the statement has now disappeared....

I'm definitely not covering mine up - I have a half sleeve of hummingbirds and cherry blossom, stars on my collarbone, and a large one on my other forearm (along with several others), and they are part of who I am, and who OH is marrying. I don't regret any of them so I'll be proudly having them on show! And I want to look like me in the pictures, not an edited version ?

Don't see why tattoos don't look right with white dresses though? ? If guests don't like the tattoos they see, they're not going to like them any more just because they are with a coloured dress surely? Apologies for the over-sensitivity lol - My tattoos are very personal to me, and I love them dearly and for me its not about creating a look ?. Aaaand I'm wearing a white dress lol.

i love this idea!!! I have a full back piece with lots of stars and adding gems to them would be wonderful! Sorry but im nicking this idea too! (When people admire my back i will give credit to tinks!

I agree with most of you ladies in that my ink is part of who i am and who my OH is marrying (even though to be honest he has always said that he would prefer me not to have tats/piercings but he loves me anyway) I mentioned to my SIL that i would like to get a half sleeve before the wedding and her reaction said it all 'oh no Debbie, not before you get married' with a slight disgusted face! At the moment the only thing stopping me is money, im not worried about other peoples reactions. Im a lovely human being and i can look however i want to. I do think though that I may start a seperate OT thread of a tattoo gallery so we can all display our art (im intrigued to see a lot of the sleeves that have been mentions as im looking for inspiration)

I have 3 tatts, 2 of which will be covered by my dress but the other is a biggish one on my right wrist, it is flowers and butteflies and done in a brush stoke grey shading so looks pretty and delicate - i think i am also gona add some gems to it to make it look even prettier seeing as its mine and is a part of me! x
