Unfortunately, mine won't be exciting for anyone other than us I don't think! We are off to Devon the week after we get married. We spent too long in airports and on planes when we went to Australia for February 2012. We have both decided that we don't want to see the inside of an airport for the foreseeable future!! Also, with us going to Devon, we can take our little boy, who will be 1.

I don't think that was the exciting idea you were hoping for, sorry Smiley smile x

Hi, We have booked 6 nights LA, 5 nights Fan Francisco and 3 nights Chicago. We looked at Hawaii and/or Caribbean but it was waaaaaaay to expensive. Think ours was about £1900 each.

We did Florida last year for 2 weeks, it was amazing !!!

    Minimoon:

Where did you/are you going? Isle of Wight

When & how long for? March, Mon to Fri, week after wedding.

Who did you book for with? "islandcottageholidays"

And if you don't mind answering, how much did you spend? The cottage is £220 + £30 for our dog, ferry I think'll be about £60, petrol I think we did it on about a tank when we went in OH's car before, but this time we'll be using mine so I'm not too sure. This'll probably end up being about £400 in total, including food.

    Honeymoon:

Where did you/are you going? Italy - Naples, Capri and Milan - followed by Download festival.

When & how long for? 1st to 16th June. 9 days in Italy and 4 at Download. 3 days at home.

Who did you book for with? British Airways, Easyjet, Atahotel, Novotel, Mercure, and then a private guest house. Download I think was ticketmaster, and hotel is Premier Inn.

And if you don't mind answering, how much did you spend? Flights plus luggage, and hotel for the two of us have come in at about £800. Also spent £175 for the two of us to go to Sonisphere Milan (one day music festival). Download festival was £180 each plus 3 nights in a hotel about £90 for one room for two people. So this in total is £1425.

There is also "city tax" to pay, which I think is a couple of euro, per person, per night. We'll take a bunch of spending money for food, city tax, buses and ferry to Capri. To how much we'll take will depend on what we save between March and June.

This is something we are really struggling with. We'd love to do a once in a lifetime trip to vietnam for 10 days and then dubai for 4 days, as this is the only time we will get the opportunity to get away without our little boy. However, were saving to move into a bigger home as we plan to have another child after the wedding and are currently stuck on what to do. Do we be sensible and do a mini moon or think sod it this is our last blow out before really settling into married life?! Eeek all these decisions! The wedding is the easy part! haha!

The vietnam trip we have looked at booking with around the world experts and they have sorted all flights and first night accommodation for $1400 (for both of us.) Our plan would be to then back pack around central and south vietnam before going to dubai for four days lixury and relaxation (my dad has offered to pay for the hotel there). So really were looking at just over £2000.

Booked with trailfinders and they were really good, can't fault them so far.

I'll be leaving the day after the wedding so 21st April.

    Cannot wait!

Can I asked who you booked with? We're hoping to do a US multicentre and our budget will be around the same. We also ruled out Hawaii because of costs and travel times.

Hi. Of cause. We booked with the coop travel. I also booked New York and Vegas with them a few years earlier and they were great, booking all the internal flights etc.

They were really good about finding us loads of options.

    Good luck xx

Wowzers!! Whereabouts in the Maldives are you going? We are off to Kuredu. Maldives on the 15th January (17 days to go) for two weeks and it's only costing us £5550 through an independant travel agent. We did look at going with Thomson, but they were around £1k more expensive for the same package.

The cost is mostly down to us choosing flight upgrades, direct flights, all inclusive top package with spa treats daily, luxury suite, in a five star resort over there. When you look around you can find other resorts on other islands but flicking through all the islands and resorts that's what we wanted. Smiley smile

I believe the resort is in South Ari Atoll, we are getting there by sea plan as we've heard speed boat can be a bit rough and I get sea sick.

Funny enough our plan today is to look at honeymoons.

Where did you/are you going? Hoping to go to the Caribbean - Jamaica or Mexico

When & how long for? Going the 14th September 2013 a month after the wedding due to work/ 14 nights

Who did you book for with? Looked at Thomson and 1st choice

And if you don't mind answering, how much did you spend? Originally was thinking £4000 but going to see if we can get a decent 5 star hotel for around £3000. Time to bargain hunt!

It's fairly choppy but not too rough. If you do suffer from sea sickness then plane is a good idea.

I love this thread! I haven't booked mine yet but it's nice to see where people went and what prices I need to look at. I want to go somewhere nice but I want to keep the price realistic & not let it get out of hand.

Where did you/are you going? Researched so many opportunities including cruises! Decided on Sensatori Crete - can chose to have swim up room or your own plunge pool - can wait to have our own little pool Smiley smile

When & how long for? Around 1-2 weeks after wedding for week or two weeks (undecided at moment)

Who did you book for with? Thomson

And if you don't mind answering, how much did you spend? Although it's five star and have own plunge pool, it worked out around £1700 pounds for both of us for week - bargain

Have you spoke to Trailfinders? If not get a quote from them, we went away from 29th Dec 2011 to 16th Feb 2012 for just over £3000 each, we went to New York, Washington DC, Orlando, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, San Diego, LA, Hawaii, San Franscisco and Vegas, it was amazing!! Writing that makes me want to go again! Norweigen Cruises do a 7 night Hawaiian cruise where you see 4 islands it might be worth looking at that as you get to go to lots of lovely places ?

This is where we went for our HM last November. We paid £3700 for 2 weeks AI and although we paid for a beach bungalow we got upgraded to an 'O' resort villa free of charge ! It was amazing, I am very jealous !!! Make sure you go snorkelling and/or Diving, we swam with 6 foot sharks and huge sea turtles pretty much every day !! Have a fabulous time !

We are spending 6 nights in Sri Lanka (3 near Sigiriya in a villa over a paddy field/marsh Smiley smile 2 in Kandy and 1 in Colombo) and then 7 nights in Kuramathi in the Maldives. The plan is to spend the first week doing lots of exploring and sight seeing and then the next week doing absolutely nothing at all. We booked with Kuoni.

Our two border collies will be with us on both occasions ?. Not sure of our route yet re the Europe tour as we only decided this was what we wanted to do the other week...but very excited already!

We are torn! One option is India - been before and loved it. This time we will go to different areas and will stay in some luxury hotels where as last time we stayed in ones which were about 3 star (£15 a night though so well worth it!). If we do thiteamed stay in mostly really nice hotels then in total it'll be about £3,000 for the two of us including spending. Other options we are considering are Vietnam/Laos/Cambodia, Kenya or Singapore/Borneo. Whatever we will do it'll be booked independently as we enjoy booking it all ourselves
