hoovering the stairs - yuk

I hate, hate, hate hoovering the stairs, I can never seem to get them clean and its just so heavy and awkward. Am thinking of buying a handheld electric sweeper or something to make it easier, any recommendations?

Me too! H does a great job as he uses the main head bit of the hoover by hand to brush the carpet and then hoovers it all up! I say he can do it because he does it better than I do but its really cos I can't be arsed ?

I hate this job too, and we have 2 staircases ?

i have one of those black and decker hand held thingeys, was about fifty quid but they do cheaper ones

My dyson stays at the bottom and the tube reaches right to the top - no problem

I use our 'car' vacuum (has never ever been used to vacuum my car) for day to day stuff and then every couple of months do a proper go lugging the hoover behind me.

I get very ☹️!] about the state of our stairs as we live in the top floor flat in a period conversion and both flats downstairs seem to think the fairies clean the shared areas.
