How did you find Hitched?

Yes - found my way here wedding planning

was a total forum virgin before hand, found a place called 'confetti', realised everyone over there was about 12 (or of the far too fluffy variety) and moved over here

it's nice to still have somewhere to come and actually the only forum I frequent

Yes, I joined 8 days after I got engaged. It was the first wedding website I found, although I wasn't looking for this kind of site (can't remember what I was searching for on Google when it popped up - maybe venues?) and I realised the forums might be helpful. I was already a member of a few other, non-wedding-related forums.

I was planning our wedding, I never actually found Confetti, but did frequest WeddingguideUK forums but Hitched was better, so I stayed ere. I wasnt a fluffy planner though I didnt really care for all the fluff.

I found Confetti originally and I think there was a bit of Confetti baiting going on from Hitched, and I ended up coming over here as it looked like more fun! Not a bad choice!

I came from Confetti. I think somebody from hitched trolled over there about having really hairy armpits and it being cultural and wearing a strapless dress, turned into some kind of "fight" and a few of us moved over to here (I know Nick was one of them and I think Fluffy was too)

A friend at work (hitcher - Breeze) who'd got engaged a few months before me pointed me in hitched's direction when I got engaged. Then I got sucked into the other forums too! We're both still here almost 5 years later.

I came here after a friend recommended it to me while I was planning my wedding. That friend still lurks on here but I started posting straight away. I moved over to OT as soon as the wedding was over and became a long term lurker on BT before making the jump over there at the end of last year.

Jules Cat Girl posted the birth story of her son, Harrison James and sent me the link so I could read it. After I'd done that, and registered so I could post a response, I had a potter about and happened upon OT. Got stuck in and haven't left .... so was already married before I came across it but have since recommended it to friends who have got engaged.

I came over from a Weight Watchers forum. A Hitcher was on there talking about the wedding (ATGs?) that got cancelled by a nutter. I was planning my wedding at the time and ended up over here. I came to OT because I was asking Qs on WP about Thailand and I got sent in Nick's direction!

I was looking for wedding venues via Google. Hitched was one of the sites I found and it was the only forum I visited. I've not joined any other forums & I'd never posted until the day I joined.

I dipped my toe into OT while wedding planning & found it far more interesting than WP. I then started lurking on BT a couple of months before TTC

I try to spend time on both OT and BT, I guess I'm on BT a bit more now but have no plans to give up OT

I found it when I realised Mr P was about to propose some time in the near future. I thought I would become a fluffy wedding planner, but really didn't that much.

There were a few people on OT that I realised were kind of cool, so I joined.

I think I must have stumbled across it through google when looking for wedding venues just after I got engaged. I`ve never been on a chat room/forum type thing except lonely planet thorn tree a couple of times, hence my unimaginative user name.

A long story short, Mr Jolly found Hitched for me. He has regreted it many times over since ? Never mind eh!

I found hitched for the 1st time in 2001 (i think) and used it for 2 years. I called off my wedding and couldnt face hitching until i found it again in 2005/6

i found it when looking for wedding shoes.

Auds at Wanderlust cards told me about it about 4 years ago.

Been using the forums on and off since then with a change of user name and a loss of posts!

I was on WeddingGuideUK and got fed up with all the randoms asking how they could get married in the UK if they were not a citizen so went over to confetti.

There was some drama there at the time about some girl being banned and her friend was up in arms and tried to get everyone onto Hitched. So came on here for a nosy. But think they might have got banned from Hitched too, not sure can't remember. She upset people on OT then went to WP and riled them all up too. Anyway, seemed much more fun on here so I stuck around.

Know what? I can't really remember - maybe i saw an ad in a wedding mag or found it on google? Anyway i joined just after we got engaged in July 06. Man, that seems like aggges ago. I always lurked on OT but it seemed like a bit of clique so wasn't confident enough to join in. Stopped posting for 6 months or so after the wedding, then came back to BT when we decided to TTC last year. Sort of gradually started posting a bit more over here when i realised the ttc lark wasn't going to pay off anytime soon - too much BT when you don't have a B can drive you a bit loopy.

I've been using forums on and off for 10 years - if i have a new interest in my life i usually find a forum to match so i can get all over-enthusiastic about it! ?

I was looking for advice for when I was a CBM about anything I needed to do etc. My work at the time was always really quiet so I lurked for a long time, this must of been around 2006, then I joined last year after getting engaged. Only really just started posted in the forums though.

My sister recently joined too, she is angel delight on BT and I also know Gnomette ...

I was planning, joined a month or so after getting engaged.

I posted mostly on WP and WL to start with but lurked big time on OT. Sometime pretty soon I got rid of the stars from my username and got stuck into OT.

A few controversial threads later I'm still here, although depending on what job/shifts I'm doing at the time my Hitching can be fairly erratic.

I have lurked on BT ever since I've been here (broody? moi?), but still probably at least 2 years off starting TTC for practical reasons so I'll not be posting there any time soon.

Found it when I was enagaged to my ex, but after we split I moved to OT. Posted a bit on WP when my now husband and I got engaged a couple of yrs later but as we were going abroad there wasn't much planning to do

Joined in April (?) 2004 to find out what a bridesmaid does, got engaged nov 2004 and pottered about on WP for most of it but migrated over here as I wasn't planning all the time. Still here and now lurking occasionally on BT but don't think I'll be there full time on there yet for a while...

I was a member of Confetti in 2003 planning my wedding but was getting fed up of all the fluff. I had a row with some silly attention seeking bint who came over onto hitched to say how mean everyone was on Confetti and I followed her over and continued the arguement. I seem to remember she got a flaming from Hitchers and her H came on to say how horrible we all were. Anyhow I liked the unfluffiness and the funny witty Hitchers and have been here ever since. I still miss Jesus.

Joined in December 2004 when got engaged. Just randomly searching for 'what to do' checklists. Then after the wedding in 2006, kind of felt I didn't need hitched anymore so didn't come on for a long time. Then started considering babies and remembered about BT so started lurking there, and then popping over to OT for a nosey every so often. Found that I actually quite like OT so stuck around.

I was starting to plan my first wedding and a girl (Esther in RL) at my work years ago told me about hitched in 2003...and I've never left!

It still feels bizarre planning wedding number two on WP having been on OT for the years in between

Like someone else has said (can't see who on 'new' Hitched, sorry), I think he's bitterly regretted it ever since ?

I was recommended it by a rl friend (Catcat) who sent me in its direction after I got engaged. Embraced the fluffiness of WP and lurked on OT. Have now been married nearly a year and lurk and post a little here on OT but post more regularly on BT on the TTC thread.
