How embarassing

flutterbye, 28 July, 2010 at 16:21 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 12

I went to the doctors this morning for honeymoon travel jabs... I don't mind needles and absolutely don't have a problem with injections. But 5 mins after the jabs I'm in the waiting room while HB is getting his, I come over all faint and very nearly pass out ? The receptionist had to make me go and lie down and so I was late to work and have been wandering around feeling spaced out all day.

Now i have another set to get done next week - I really hope it doesn't happen again! ?

Oh No! I am a needle wimp ...

Don't be embarassed, I was shaking like a leaf when I had my honeymoon jabs done, I walked in the room and practically fell on to the chair & the nurse held my hand.

I also passed out after a blood test when I was younger & got sent to lay down despite living opposite the docs surgery they would not let me home for ages.

I'm glad it's not just me! Feeling much better today, except for really sore arms - feels like i've been working too hard at the gym ?

If you can then lie down to have them done. I've just this week come to the end of a set of 8 injections (I'm going to Zambia in a fortnight), and the first time I went, I came over all faint too - even though I'd never had any problems before! After that I lay down for all the others and was fine.

I bet they see it loads so don't be embarrassed!

When I had the top of my ear pierced, I was so embarrassed about feeling feint that I just got up and walked out once it was finished... I then passed out in the fish and chip shop next door!! It was a really hot day so myself and my friend stopped to get me some water, she told them I wasn't feeling well so they let me use their staff bit upstairs so I bet they saw it a lot too!!

Don't be embrassed. Your body has just had something unusual put into it that it doesn't know. It is hardly going to be happy for a little while.

How gladly i am because my wedding did go smoothly and the guest enjoyed their meal and the venue. But there are some obstruction for the wedding cake and wedding ceremony.

Thanks all! Think this week I'm going to make sure I eat lots and lie down. I might also ask my boss if I can work from home in the morning too, just in case ?

That sounds awesome flutterbye! I'd love to go to Africa - Mum said she would take me one day as she grew up there. We're off to Thailand in September for our honeymoon and can't wait!! x

I'd love to go to Thailand too, but HB has been before so we discounted it as a honeymoon destination! Am sure it'll be great fun ?

I had my last vaccination today, and there was no fainting ?
