I have asked for RSVP's to be in 3 months before the wedding as the venue wants final numbers 6-8 weeks before the wedding date. That gives me plenty of time to chase up any outstanding RSVP's.

I guess I depends when you need them and what info you are asking for back, I'm sending mine out march and need them back in may for my August wedding, sending out quite early as some people will need to book a day off work, and also need them back earlier as venue want final numbers and bedroom allocations 8 weeks before, so i need to allocate the rooms once I know who needs them and I think this may take some time. This also gives me some chasing time and time to bump guests up if I get any declines!

Our day invites have just gone out for a Jan rsvp date, with wedding March. Evening's RSVP is February - and they'll be sent some time around Nov-Jan. I dont think they need to go out anytime soon, but mum on the other hand is eager to get them out.

Our guests received our daytime invitations today, with an RSVP by 17th November, so 5 weeks, with our wedding on 22nd Dec, 5 weeks later.

It all depends on how far before the wedding you send them out, and when your venue want final numbers.

We did it all rather late by comparison; sent them out with just under 2 months to go, with an RSVP date 5 weeks before. This meant there was only about 3 weeks in which to reply, and almost everyone did - I think we only had to chase up two people after the date. I do wonder if actually giving people a relatively short RSVP "window" makes them more likely to reply immediately than if they get it and see they don't have to think about a proper reply for several months.

We're sending ours in early January with a RSVP date of 15th February for an end of March wedding. The venue need numbers 4 weeks before so I have 2 weeks to chase people.
