How many places have you lived?

Erin8, 6 February, 2014 at 15:47 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 47

How many different places have you lived? I am currently on my 15th place. Going to university contributed a lot to that! We are not going anywhere anytime soon though.

I'm on my 9th now. OH and I would love to but a farm when we have enough and I'd want that to be our forever home if we can.

My current place is my 7th. The next place I live will be our home for a long long time!

My mum is 60 and has lived in four. Her current house is built in the garden of the previous. She can see the house she was born in from it!

If you count from birth to now I know I moved around a lot as a newborn as my Mum and Dad didn't have settled accomodation and had to go into hostels, temporary accomodation etc. So I don't know for sure. But I would say (from the age of 2 when everything was settled) I am on number 6.

Number 7 in 2015 we hope!

Are you saying different houses or different towns?

If the first, 9. If the second, only 4.

    I'm on my 5th place.

ETA - all in the same town, all within 10 minutes walk of each other.

    7 different flats/houses

    2 different locations

When i was 18 moved from the country to city for uni, 14 years later still here but hopefully not for too much longer!

11 different houses/flats (counting the 6 months I lived with my grandma when on my gap year). Only ever within the south-west or central London areas though.

Hoping to move to number 12 soon after our fixed-rate runs out in August, and we're hoping to move to a house we can stay in long-term. Our current flat has plenty of space, it has 3 spacious bedrooms, but it's not on the ground floor - it's up a narrow set of stairs, and will be next to impossible with a newborn and a very young toddler.

I don't know either as l hate it too! Scary thing is this isn't our forever house, probably a 3-5 year house in reality.

That's what happens when you're from a broken home ?

Uni is the other main source of all my moves!

Yep, uni has accounted for most of my separate houses. Only moved once growing up (across the road!) and have only moved once since living with H.

This is my third house - all in the same town.

H, however, has moved 9 times in 7 different towns.

I've stayed in 7 different houses/flats. I hate moving, I want to die in our next place but I don't think we'll be able to afford a "forever house" straight away.

8...but 3 of those are from university years.

2 houses with my parents, and then this is the 3rd place with my H. But this stop should be a fairly long one!

    Nine...

    Four before uni

Five during uni (the 5th place I lived was when I moved in with H, which is where I live now)

About to move into number 10, and I can't see us leaving for a while.

    Hmm...

    8 houses/3 cities/2 countries before university

    5 during university (1 city)

5 flats/5 cities/3 countries (on 3 continents, too!) since university, not counting the 6 months I spent at my moms in Canada before moving to the UK.

and we should be exchanging any day now on our new house.
