How long is a piece of string? Mine was £1000 but you can get something from a bridal sample sale for as little as £300 or could spend £5000 or more if you wanted to.

Ha ha, good question, i got mine from the wedding show at the NEC and it was £560, but i was lucky as that just happened to be the one i fell in love with. But my best mate spend £1000 on hers, and my cousin spent a mere £250. I recon you should budget for 1500 to be on the safe side. I would have said the average is around 1000 at a guess.

Mine was just over £1300, but my 2nd favourite was £880. Probably I should have bought that one with my logical head on, but mine was just soooo pretty!

I should point out that the difference in price between those dresses is more than I have ever spent on any other item of clothing. ?

I paid just under 1k for mine, and think thats roughly what you would want to budget for. Then at least if it comes under budget then it's a bonus but if you fall in love with a pricey dress then at least your'e more prepared if that makes sense!!

I would shop around though, have a look at wedding fayres as they have offers on or see if certain shops have sales or special offers. I saved £300 on my dress by doing this.

I told dress shops that I was looking to spend around £800 but in my head had budgeted up to £1000. There was one shop that said they had nothing under a grand but every other shop gave me plenty of dresses to try on around the £800 mark and they were all A line as I knew that was the style I wanted (although I did try on other styles just to make sure - as plenty of people on here will tell you, you may fall in love with something you wouldn't expect to!). I reckon I tried about 40-50 dresses in my search and 80% of these were £800 or under. The shops were very good about not directing me to dresses that they knew were above my budget. The dress I have bought was £825.

Def around 1000k especially if you want a princess style dress, plus extra money for alterations too, but my dress was worth every penny money well spent.
