How often do you write?

*Mini*, 4 December, 2013 at 21:03 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 36

Inspired by footers thread in really surprised at the people who don't write very often. I spend whole days writing at work (interview notes, disiplinary meetings) and kind of assumed that's what everyone did but I guess not!

So how much do you write?

Every day at work. All my onsite reports and audit notes are all hand written.

I only write notes at meetings really and cards at home so maybe every couple of days (don't have meetings every day). Even meeting notes though a scrawled half words half shorthand so I rarely write properly any more other than cards.

Definitely never spend all day writing at work. The odd notes each day maybe but rarely full sentences. Most of what I do is computer based or numbers

Everyday at work as our care plans are handwritten.

At home it's mostly just cards and shopping lists!

    All day everyday!

I read an article the other day that said some people (can't remember the % but it wasn't tiny) hadn't hand written anything in over 6 weeks. Do people not write shopping lists?

Everyday since I went back to school- scribbling notes from a million blummin power points!

But before that not very often, a little each day at work but considering I worked a four day week I could go the other days without needing to write anything much maybe a note for boyo or a birthday card or shopping list perhaps or putting something on the calendar.

Every day at work. A lot of it is an incomprehensible web of abbreviations though.

I mostly type rather than write, I find it far quicker to type than to hand write. I do write daily but just not much. Maybe the odd note here and there while I'm on the phone.

All the time. All our lab paperwork is hand written and I make notes when I'm in tele conferences or on the phone to sponsors. I am also a list person so I have a list in my diary, one on my fridge and a DIY one on our kitchen black board.

    Every day.

I maintain I "think in biro" - so anything creative is done on paper, along with meeting notes, research notes, to do lists etc. And I can only proof read properly on paper.

At home I keep a written shopping list on the fridge and often do notes to H (and others) on paper.

Daily at work, cashing up, handovers, notes for staff. On my days off I rarely write anything apart from yesterday when I finished all the thank you cards.

I write something everyday - but it's normally just notes from phone calls/lists etc.

I work for a technology company so we're discouraged from using paper/print-outs, the majority of my work is computer based.

Hardly ever. I'm a bad speller, so tend to type even the shortest of notes so I can run it through the spell check, especially if I'm leaving the note for someone else to read.

I jot things down on a notepad, but only it tends to be things like IP addresses or error messages etc.

I write a lot of notes etc while I'm on the phone at work and that's about it. I rarely have to write full sentences these days, all of that kind of stuff is typed.
