I noticed that on the 'Dear Santa...' thread that a lot of people want a pair of them for Christmas. Excuse my ignorance (never heard of them before) but can someone explain to me what is so good about them? I thought that wellies were wellies!

I ❤️ my hunters. i live in them during winter for dog walking and they are so comfy and seem good quality to me. they are a bit grafted now especially since i got stuck in a bog in them on the morning of my wedding, they were so far in I had to climb out of the boots and get H to pull them out! but at least no one can accuse me of being one of those fashionistas who ony wears their hunters for a trip round the town centre when it is a bit drizzly

I saw someone wearing a pair on the school run. As far as I know she hasn't got a dog and she doesn't live in the country.

She is a bit of a fashion victim and quite often wears things that are fashionable even though they clash, just because they are fashionable.

ETA: I'm having a *** about her as she's a cow, rather than the boots she was wearing...

I have Joules Wellies and for me they are far better than Hunters, they are more comfortable for long periods of time and they fit my giant calves much better than hunters and other wellies, normally I spend ten min trying to get the damm things on/ off and can't ever tuck my trousers in I have none of these problems with the joules wellies.

I also like the Barbour wellies

I love my Hunter wellies (lime green). I have long (size 8) but not fat feet and they are shaped well for that sort of arrangement. They've lasted me well as I've had them for years and wear them a lot (country-living person).

Can't really understand the appeal of Hunters (sorry) as they just seem like fairly standard wellies to me, but if I would well splash out on the Ugg wellies lined with sheepskin - Can't believe someone didn't think of lining wellies with furry stuff sooner! (Unless they did and I just totally missed it haha).
