Husband has been made redundant...........again :-(

Little Pixie , 15 November, 2012 at 18:11 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 21

Same thing happened exactly 12 months ago. He is being really positive but I am devestated. I can't even talk to my best friend about it as she gets married tomorrow and I don't want to focus off her.

Totally having a macdonalds for tea and I am putting bacardi in my coke. F*ck the diet. F*ck everything x

Oh lp I am sorry Smiley sad

You deserve a Bacardi. It sounds easy but try and have a good day tomorrow and worry about the job situation afterwards.

I'm sorry to hear that. Do you think he will find work quickly?

Try to forget about it for tomorrow and enjoy your friends wedding.

I will join you with a Bacardi and coke seems to have been a rough week for a lot of people.

So sorry to hear this LP. Twice in one year is truly rotten. Hope he can find something else very soon - and hope you manage to have a lovely day at your friend's wedding.

Really sorry to hear your news

It happened to my OH twice in 6 months, the first time was the week we moved into our house!

As others have said, get him to sign on as soon as he can. I would also recommend to get signed up to as many agencies as he can as my OH found he got alot more interviews from them.

Really hope it works out soon.

Hope you had your McDonalds and enjoy it! Smiley smile

Sorry to hear this, once is rotten but twice in the space of a year is beyond rotten. Stick a double Bacardi in that coke and try to enjoy your day tomorrow. I really hope he finds something soon.

Thanks ladies, H is being really upbeat about it this time. I was gutted but trying to keep my chin up. He is a landscape gardener so worst time of year. He does have his own work at weekends that will pull us through a couple of weeks at least. A mate of mine is going to try and get him some labouring work.

Plan is to go full time for himself early next year so this doesn't happen again.

The maccy's was awesome and I am feeling much better now, the holy trinity of beef, bacardi and hitched worked a treat xxxxx

When he signs on jsa tell him to ask for a referral for new enterprise allowance. It's for people who are signing on who want to become self employed. He'll be able to access a little financial support to start up.

Sorry to hear this. Definitely get him to visit the job centre, even if he isn't entitled to money they can pay his National Insurance for a bit.

Little update! We seem to have amazing friends. Everyone is rallyinf round, putting the word out and offering ideas. It's been amazing actually. OH has managed to get 3 - 5 weeks of work locally at some holiday park who need some gardening doing to tidy the place up ready for next year. This is fab news as it means we can at least breathe a bit.

He has also managed to pick up some extra jobs for his own gardening business. When the current work ends we are going to get stuck into promoting him and sorting out a business loan or grant. Friends has so far offered free leaflet design, free ad in a local publication and a few other bits.

    I love our friends!

In other news my best friends wedding went amazingly well!!! She looked amazing and it really was the most perfect day!! I managed to get thhrough it fine and will tell her the news when she gets back from her mimimoon xxxxxx
