A friend of mine suggested going to a local dance shop as the shoes there are obviously made for comfort.

I went to buy some new work shoes and saw them in the shop. They're very comfortable and the heel isn't too high. I bought them before I bought my dress.

I'm afraid my shoes were my "something old" - I couldn't see any that I liked better than a pair I already had (every time I saw an ok pair I just thought, but they're not as nice as my other ones) so decided I wasn't spending £40+ on shoes when I had perfectly good ones. I did however luuurrve the wedding boots on the Henry Kaye site but couldn't justify £100 on boots I'd wear once when I had perfectly good shoes that would do the job (especially since they were mostly going to be under my dress).

Hey drifter. I feel your pain - choosing shoes was really difficult for me because I love shoes and hate bridal shoes. I had quite a specific brief and bought the only shoes I could find that fitted it (peep toe, hidden platform, very high heel because I'm teeny and he's a giant, thicker heel than stilletto so that I don't sink in the grass and slingback). I ended up with Paradox Barbie shoes, which are really comfy. Remind me what your brief is? I love a good ole shoe search on the internet!

I saw some, decided they were too expensive, found some similar that I loved too and bought tose for a tenth of the price!! Then I tried to wear them in, they crippled me so much I could barely stand so I now have three different pairs of very expensive ones on order, due for delivery on Friday and wedding is Saturday!

Sorry that's no help but shoes are on my mind a lot at the moment!!lol

    What exactly do you require?

    Heel height -

Heel width - wedge, stiletto or chunky?

    Colour -

    Bling? -

    Price range -

    Any definite no-nos -

    Thank you ladies

I have deafinately lost my wedding mojo when it comes to shoes.

    SO I want

Fairly simple, possibly with a cut away side, Heels no more than 3 inches round or peep toed (no pointy toes) and vaguely vintage

my two favourite pairs originally were

and sorry for the massieve pics. Sadly both shoes have too high a heel (and are fairly expensieve)I tried the second shoe on in a stunning dusky pink type colour that i was quite taken with so f I get rainbow shoes I might dye them to that colour.

    My current options are

I could have these in the dusky pink I saw and was considering buying shoe clips to spangle them up if i feel the need

    or

very similar have the cut out side i like but couldn't have them in the colour I like.

Problem is that I'm worried eiether of these may not go with my dress.

Final optionis waiting to see if I like these when they are released

they cost a bit more and aren't available til the end of june which means delaying my next dress fitting.

I have no photos of my dress but

skirt is a little like this in shape with a heavyish silk/satin bottom layer and a chiffon top layer fitted bodice (with internal corset) covered with antique lace and a sweetheart neckline!

I think you're first option look lovely and as you say, you could bling them up if you feel the need (remember you don't just have the option of shoe clips, but bling guns too - a la Moonpig). I think they are a lovely shape. I really wouldn't worry too much about whether they match - I'm sure they will, but nobody will really see them at the end of the day....

I share your hatred.....I spent ages trawling throught the internet and magazines. Then I clicked on ebay!!! and found the shoes I was searching for for a fraction of the cost. Dianne Hassall Pure shoes for £20. both myself and my bridesmaids are having the same shoes and they are just perfect. Take a look if you want more info on the seller etc let me know
