Ideas for a mini-moon

Gwyn4940, 10 May, 2010 at 22:22 Posted on Planning 0 13

We are getting married on 4th July. My OH has to back in work on the Friday so we can only be away maximum Mon-Thurs (although going Monday might be rushing things with the wedding on a Sunday). We are going to plan our proper honeymoon for next year so just want a few days away but I am finding it difficult to come up with interesting ideas. We live in North Kent and so far all I have managed to come up with is Brighton or along to coast in either Whitstable or Broadstairs. We love nice pubs and restaurants. Is anyone else just doing a mini break? Is so where are you off to? Any ideas for us gratefully received.

We're heading to Ireland for our honeymoon. We're renting a cottage in the middle of nowhere, and are going to live on bread and wine and enjoy each other's company surrounded by beautiful scenery!

We hired a hoseasons log cabin for 3 nights in the Vale of York, (travelling from Ipswich) it was lovely, four poster bed, jacuzzi bath and shower in the bedroom, hot tub, very relaxing.

I absolutely love Dorset. If you stay in Studland or any of those surrounding areas , you wont be dissappointed with the beaches, pubs and restaurants. The scenery is amazing and there is loads to do. The Banks Ams in Studland has the best pub garden and does lovely pub food. There is also an amazing fish restaurant right next to the Chain ferry. In Worth Matravers there is an amazing little tea shop with home made scones and cakes, also a pub called the Square and Compass - http://squareandcompasspub.co.uk/index.html

    Hope this helps x

    Hi,

We're having a mini-moon then having a 'proper' honeymoon early 2011 (it gives us something else to look forward too) We're in the North West and are thinking of getting a nice little cottage or log cabin in either Snowdonia, the Lake District or Scotland x

We're thinking of going somewhere that we can get the train to and travel in first class to make the journey a bit more special. Current favourite is York.

We're staying in a spa hotel in the peak district. Actually I'm really relieved I'm not having to worry about flying off somewhere and making sure I have the paperwork and everything - then the last night we're going to a restaurant we've both wanted to go to for ages.

Hello, you could try Sardinia, it is beautiful and the flight is really short. We stayed in a place called Isola Rossa and it's not touristy at all and the place was gorgeous.
