    What's up? I'm sure you're not crap.

I once went to bath my dog in 2 inches of boiling hot water. I forgot to turn on the cold tap or check. He squealed and jumped out. I cried on the phone to the vet. I think, other than the vet, I've never told anyone that story. Sorry, i don't have kids but I was a very crap doggy parent that day.

Just a stoopid, stooooopid, stupid argument where she wasn't getting her own way.I ended up shouting at her......☹️

She just has an excellent nack of making me feel like the worlds most crap mother...

Poor H was outside and came in to me sobbing on the sofa and her sobbing in her bedroom and her twin sister crying in her room because me and her sister were arguing. He asked me what was wrong and i waved him away so, went to her and said "What's wrong?"Whys your mum crying and why are you"

    Thanks All

Sorry Chicken but, i did actually Laugh at that...

You're not as crap as me, the mother who got my daughter's beautiful hair cut in a basin yesterday. Oh dear.

You certainly are not a rubbish mother?`

Poor Chook, I bet you felt bad for weeks after that mistake ?`

I don't think you sound like a bad mum at all. Rows between mum's and daughters are very common as I'm sure a lot of people on here can testify to. Me and my mum had regular full on screaming matches when I was growing up.

Poor Chicken, I would have been the same as you. It was an accident though and I'm sure he doesn't remember

I've already had a screaming match with A and she's 9. She's very much like me though and I think we wind each other up. I'm sure children are getting older younger iykwim!

God I feel like this every day practically. Niamhy is 9 and asserting herself, which invariably results in 'debate'.

If you were a crap mum, you wouldn't even be asking the question really.

The fact you've been sobbing and questioning yourself tells me you are one of the good ones. ?

PS. It only gets harder, so have some wine.

I know for a fact my mum used to feel the same after rowing with me when I was younger. She wrote it in the photo albums she gave me. I still think she is the best mum I could have asked for.

She'll come round for a cuddle.:-)

    Thanks again all.

After a few more hours of sobbing on Hs shoulder last night, feeling a little better today.

My other Daughter came and gave me a big hug last night, that was nice....The one that i had,had the argument seems to have forgotten all about it today.

I wish kids came with a handbook when they are born sometimes!

I have had a few shocking arguments with my son before now. The most recent was around Easter time when he simplyrefused to get dressed or come downstairs when he was supposed to be going to holiday club (he was 9 at the time). I ended up frogmarching him down the stairs and he hurled abuse at me so I lost it and smacked him. In the end we were both so would up and it was so late that I had to ring work and say I would work from home and I had to call holiday club to say he wasn't coming. I sent him to his room till we'd both calmed down, then we both apologised to each other. He did acknowledge that he had gone too far and I said sorry for losing it with him. I think it was a bit of a turning point because we've not had any episodes that bad since then!

Being a parent is hard - we are destined to beat ourselves up for not being perfect porever, think it's par for the course!
