I'm an aunty again! *Updated with flash!*

celticgoddess, 1 June, 2012 at 17:01 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 26

Well technically it's great aunty as my niece had her beautiful wee baby boy, Daniel Nathan at 7pm last night. He's a wee scoot, only 5lb 12 oz but he is just adorable. I was with her during the labour/birth and can honestly say,in all my days as a midwife, it was the most beautiful birth I've ever seen. She was so calm and amazing! I'm just so proud of her! Feeling very fluffy today!!

Mini - it means he's tiny! Only 5lb 12! I feel so old as I was there when my niece was born and now I've seen her give birth to her own baby! I'm using my phone bit I'll try and flash at some point!

5 12 is tiny tiny- bet he looks like a little dolly.

I love it when you write in a Scottish way- makes me read it how I think you sound like. I used to deal with lots of Glaswegian customers who would frequently call me "hen"

'Hen' is a term of endearment here in Glasgow but some people take offence to it as they see it as demeaning (wtf?) I always call my niece hen shes just my wee hen!

    Here is baby Daniel Nathan.

Im holding him here, he's just so scrummy!

    He is beautiful. So gorgeous.

I have always taken "hen" as a term of endearment. My dad is from oop north and frequently calls me "duck".

I'd take 'hen' as a term of endearment too.

My ex ILs called me wench, they were Brummies, so didn't see it as a bad thing. Where i'm from, that'd be an insult.

Was the baby early CG, or just on the small side?

ER - he was actually 11 days overdue! So just small but not so small that his blood sugars need to be checked, he's just over the cut off for that. I am totally in love with him!

Congratulations !! ..indeed he is a braw looking wee lad ! ?

5lb 12 is a good starting point, my eldest was 6lb 3 at birth but was taller than me by the time he was 11.
