Can't believe it's all over now, I have massive post wedding blues. The only thing thats getting me through is knowing my John Lewis gift list is being delivered at the end of the month!
For anyone that's at the early stages of planning I thought I'd give you my top tips:
1. Enjoy every second. Everyone says it goes fast but it really did fly by. It was the happiest, most fun day of my life. Make sure you get a million photos and people to video stuff. I have a great clip of me dancing and getting lifted up and dragged across the dance floor by a friend. Moments like that you forget but are priceless.
2. Don't fret about the little stuff. Table decs, seating plans, running order, favours etc none of it matters. You'll have a brilliant day no matter what.
3. Only invite people you really want there. I had 60 during the day and 110 at night. I got to speak to everyone and I love everyone that came. I am so happy I didn't waste time and money inviting people I don't care about. The atmosphere was brilliant all day, there was a lot of love in the room and everyone cried all day (with happiness and laughter!)
4. It doesn't have to cost a fortune. My reception was £3.5k including a fantastic hogroast with roast veg and gravy, a tonne of champagne and wine, dress was £500, we had taxis take us there for under £30, bridesmaid dress for £20! The list goes on. So many people have said ours is the best wedding they have ever been to as it was such fun and so relaxed and it definitely didn't look cheap. (The wedding was in London, zone 2, by the way so it is possible not to get ripped off in London!)
That's it, bye bye hitchers! Enjoy your weddings!
