I was just wondering if you managed to get your dress fixed. You (dress included) look absolutely fabulous! It all looks wonderful and I'm glad it all went well.

Well the dressmaker returned from her holiday on Tuesday, Wednesday I saw her making several posts on her facebook page but no reply to the email. On Thursday lunch time I recieved a phone call from her, which I didn't answer as we were busy having lunch with our families before going to the rehearsal. She left a message saying don't let the other dressmaker take it apart I can come and collect it today and take the other side up to match. I don't know if she realised that this was only 24hrs before the wedding but it seemed ridiculous to expect me to wait until 24hrs before the wedding to do something about it.

Anyway later that day she sent me an email saying that she was willing to reimburse £250 for the trouble. I didn't have chance to get back to her until yeaterday. I told her how much it cost me to make the alterations and today she has sent me an email apologising for the problems and saying that she really didn't notice that it wasn't right. (I think part of the problem is that she was rushing to finish and therefore didn't spend the time making sure it was finished properly) She has agreed to cover the costs of alterations plus a little extra. I'm quite happy with this, I'm not going to push her for any more. I have the dress I wanted and I'm no more out of pocket than I expected. At least the dress was the only thing to go wrong and it was fixable.
