Hi Everyone!!!

Im new to the site and loving it and the forum!!

I got engaged in May and have booked my venue etc for 30th June 2012, Im so excited, and slightly over whelmed at all the decisions I have to make!!

Welcome and congratulations

I'm a newbie too!! Also got engaged in May this year and our wedding is set for May 2012. I never realised how much you have to think about when getting married! It's scary stuff, but in a good way.

Finding the forum very interesting at the min, hope you will too.

Oooohhh - it is so exciting! A few people have told me that 'Im not hanging around' and that its 'pretty quick'. I personally dont agree, I like the idea of a years planning!

So how are you getting on? Where is your venue?

So at the weekend I decided to go and look at some dresses with my mum!!! It was so much fun!! Have you started looking yet?

Im bridesmaid dress shopping with the bridesmaids at the end of this month, thats scary, trying to get four girls into the same sort of dress. Have you seen any BM dresses you like??

Yes I also think 12 months is a nice time to plan ... But wish it would go quicker! I would have been terrible with a long engagement!

So far we've booked the local church, hotel for evening reception and wedding car. I have bought my dress along with veil, tiara and shoes. I've also sorted the bouquets and almost finished making our invites. Oh so organised ?

I've seen a few bridesmaid dresses I like. I have 3 bridesmaids all of different size, shape and height ... so has been a bit of a pain trying to find something to suit all! I'm going shopping at the beginning of August to see if I can find anything for them.

Good luck with the dress shopping! I loved trying all the dresses on.

Oh wow - slightly panicking now!! Ive only booked the hotel for the ceremony and reception, oh and Ive booked in to give notice of marriage. Cant believe you have made your invitations already! Wow - thats so organsied.

So if your wedding is in May next year when are you thinking of sending them out?

Also im looking for around 80 people in the day - how many invites do you think I should send out to get this number?? A friend said most people your invite to weddings almost always come, so I dont want to send out 90 invites and have to pay for 90, but on the other hand I dont want 70 to turn up when I need 80. Hope that makes sense. :-)

Also are you doing 'save the date' type notifications? Do you think emails are acceptable??

Im currently on BHS website, and there are a few nice ones on there!! My bridesmaids are also all different shapes and sizes!! But I know they will all look lovely, I would never put any of them in a poor fitted dress.

Sorry for not replying sooner ExcitedBride, wasn't being rude ? H2B's birthday so took him out for the day!
The invites needed a lot of time to make so thought I would start early and get them out of the way! Not sure when i'm sending them out yet, possibly towards the end of this year. I also made save the dates that follow the style of the invites, which I have sent out now as a lot of our guests have a fair way to travel and book hotels etc...
I'm not sure about how many invites you will need. We sat and made a list of people who we wanted to invite, the ceremony/wedding breakfast is just mainly close family and friends. Don't forget some guests can go on the same invite for example Aunt/Uncles/younger cousins.
I was going to go for one of the dresses on the BHS website but the fittings are terrible! My sister who is a size 10/12 struggled to get in a 16! If she had to wear it all day she wouldn't have been comfortable and would have needed a bigger size. Also the ones in the shop were damaged, the material was frayed and ripped around the zip and seams. Seemed quite poor quality - don't know if this was just from people trying to fit into the wrong size though!
You will have to keep us updated with how you're getting on!
