Invitations - What size

SJM1988, 28 May, 2013 at 15:14 Posted on Planning 0 8

Hi all,

I'm planning my wedding invitations to see if it is going to be cheaper to get them made or make them myself. I've seen some I really like but they are only A6 size. Do you think this is too small??

They are these invites i'm looking at...

What has everyone else done on size?

Thanks

Sam

Mine were half of A4, which I think is A5?!

Is A6 nearer to postcard size? In my opinion as long as you can fit all the details you want on and it is clear and easy to read then I think they will be fine.

Mine were A6 sized! I had 3 cards with different info on tied up with string and bunting

Don't good things come in small packages? I think don't worry about the size, as long as you can fit all the vital information on and it looks slick - go for it and pocket the ££saved! Smiley winking

Ours were A6 sized and they were fine. Plenty of room for the decoration and the text inside. Plus that size looks neat and cute, in my humble opinion!

The design you've posted would definitely be easy to do yourself not to mention cheaper! Just leave yourself loads of time to get them done. Also, this particular one has the text printed on the hammered card so you need to ensure your printer can take the card you want to use and not chew it up!

Ours were A5 but that was because my crafty design was large. The info inside was really limited and mostly the date, time and wedding website!

I also think A6 size is really cute and it is a bit different to the more standard sizes. I'm doing standard 6x4 cards but it's because I want to do some crafty bits on the front, I'm going to have way more space inside than is actually needed.

Mine were DL, two layers of card plus ribbon and embellishment, plus an A4 sheet with info, plus an A7 RSVP card and envelope - the postage almost gave me a heart attack - I think A6 will look beautiful and honestly, you'll save not only on the design but the postage too and they will be just as pretty as larger invitations.

I say go for it! I really love the one in the picture!

I think mine are 145mm square which for me was the perfect size. I found A5 to be too big and it just looked silly half empty.
