Not at the moment, however, when H starts his new job (and has to wear shirt, tie and smart trousers) we probably will.

My mum hates ironing, but still insists on ironing socks, underwear etc. Why bother if you hate it so much? Less is definitely more where ironing is concerned.

I normally spend one evening a week ironing, although I've been so busy over the past couple of weeks that I have a massive pile waiting for me. We both have shirts for work, so they need to be ironed. I'm also quite bad at leaving things in the tumble dryer for ages once they're dry, so they get all creased. I think I'd need to iron less if I hung things up straight away.

My mum irons bed sheets (correction - the duvet cover and pillowcases, not the fitted sheet). She just folds them in half and drapes them over the board.

My iron broke a few weeks ago and I still haven't replaced it. I do very little ironing anyway, just fold everything when it comes out of the tumble dryer.

Used to be as and when I need things ironing to be honest - but usually buy easy to iron/ironless clothes for school for daughter.

I can't iron Hubby's shirts to his standard.

but for about 2 years we pay someone to do it..! but I never iron bedclothes, undergarments etc. But someone who goes to the same ironing lady actually sends over their bedsheets! ..Why she charges by the KG too.

I iron sheets too! Though not socks & pants.

Is it sad that I actually like ironing? I find it quite theraputic.

When I was a teenager, I used to iron for money!

I iron 3 shirts every morning while H does the packed lunches. I refuse to sacrifice an evening to iron clothes that will only get creased when they get stuffed in the wardrobe. But we do tend to buy non-iron stuff wherever possible.

Anything of mine that needs ironing is done that day I need it unless I have a very early start. I tend to wear tailored dresses and jackets to I rarely wear shirts. Less ironing needed by more money spent on dry cleaning! Very few of my casual clothes require ironing. I probably iron about once a month.

Mr CB irons his own stuff - work shirts and smart casual stuff only.

Towels don't get ironed here but we do have ironed bed sheets - I love getting in to a clean, crisp bed. A high thread count and ironed sheets feel lovely to me, we avoid the starch though! They get changed once a week but are ironed for us. I suspect if it was left to us our standards would slip pretty quickly!

OH started new job in sept which requires him to wear suit, I told him straight away that he could iron his own shirts if he wanted them done. For a few days he did this each night before bed and hasn't done it since!!

Like CB I love the feel of freshly ironed sheets on a bed but not enough to actually do it! Maybe one day when I don't work full time (keep dreaming) then I'll do this...

I iron everything after it has been dried or at least a few days after in front of the telly. This includes sheets, quilt covers and pillowcases.

I sort through all my clothes as they come off the airer or out of the dryer. Those that don't need ironing get put away straight away. Those that need ironing get put in the "The Ironing Pile". I try to ignore this pile hoping it will go away, until I need something that's in it then I'll spend an hour doing the lot.

I agree with Trickers, life is too short to iron bedsheets. I wouldn't mind someone doing it for me though.

I only iron if something really really needs it & I'll do it right before Im wearing it - the majority of my clothes dont.

Im not very good at ironing and neither is OH so its always a battle when he needs a shirt iron. Depends on my mood whether I just do it or leave him to it! He ha a work do this week end but we are out on the fri nite & I'll be hungover on the sat & having baking to do for 2 family parties so no way will I be doing it for him. He usually gets his mum to do his ironing when hes off on a fri afternoon & Im at work (I dont think she expects him to learn, she thinks I shoudl do it for him).

I hate ironing. I tell OH - I cook, clean, everything but iron - pick your battles!

I must be in the minority.
I iron every week, normally on a Sunday whilst watching the TV. It takes me about 30 mins, depending on the load. I also iron husband's clothes, including his RAF uniform.
If I let him do the ironing, it takes forever, he's so slow.
I'd rather do it all in one go than iron one thing at a time.

I iron all my sons stuff in one go about once a week, the girls and OH can do their own as i can't be assed. I put all my stuff away un ironed and try my best to pick stuff out that does not need to be done before i wear it. It means that there are loads of clothes in my wardrobe that are only worn about 4 times a year though.

I iron everything except pants and socks.

I try to do it once or twice a week but if busy it can mount up and has to be done at a weekend. In winter i don't mind an hour or so in front of the TV although i do find OH's shirts a pain and he doesn't have creases down the arms.....i've got it to a fine art now!

CB can I be you for a week please? Your life sounds much more glam than mine!

I do not iron unless it's an emergency. H wears shirts daily but buys easy care ones and hangs them up straight from the washing machine so they look reasonable respectable. I recently ironed a shirt I wanted to wear to a Christening. Prior to that I think I last ironed the boys shirts for the wedding. Nope, that's a lie - MIL did it for me ? Eeerrr.... I'm sure I HAVE ironed at least one another time in the last year. No idea when.

I'm a crumpled sort of person, and my attire reflects that.

You just need to work lots of hours, have a cleaner and a launderette round the corner and you're away!

I used to work with a guy who'd wear a three piece suit every day just so that he only needed to iron the front 'v' of the shirt visible above his waistcoat!

I only iron when I have to. Most things look fine if you hang them up when they first come out of the washer. We don't have a dryer so everything is dried on the airers or on hangers. OH irons his own shirts and whatever else he wishes. I do the odd skirt/blouse if I have to - very rare!

I tend to iron as stuff comes out of the dryer (except at the moment as I am swamped with life and stuffs) but I don't iron undies, sheets, towels, cloths etc - my FMIL does and tutted when I told her I didn't, and I in turn told her that if she expected them to be ironed I would be expect her to pick them up on Monday to be done

I try to do mine once a week, but usually I just do my shirts for work then get bored so the rest piles up. Then once a month I spend over an hour doing the rest. I would rather do them all in one go than have to rush around in the morning ironing.

Idenfity with this completely. I always look with envy at those that always seem so preened, I just dont seem to be able to manage it!

I probably fight with the ironing board about once every 3 months (because by this time it is buried in the back of the cupboard) for a particurly creased item that OH or I need for an occasion we cant look too creased at. Everything else just gets worn as is, neither of us ever wears shirts so I hope we dont loo too bad! I have struggled with ironing pillowcases duvet cover when the PIL come and stay and it does look better, but such a faff!!

I too like the sound of having CB's glam life. I think I would always be put off having a cleaner though as I wouldnt want anyone, cleaner or otherwise seeing the state of my house ?

I always iron my clothes before I put them away, I tend to iron the clothes as soon as they are dry and then I don't have a pile of ironing building up, I have a 7 month old baby and tend to iron his clothes straight away as well as they don't take much ironing.
