Is it just me or is anyone else doing this?

MrsMac2be, 14 June, 2011 at 13:53 Posted on Planning 0 30

Is it me just being weird or has anyone else started packing for their HM?

Bought myself and Rich some new flip flops at the weekend so just been trying them on.. which then led to me going through my swimwear drawer.. which then led to me getting out my maxi dresses etc and putting them in the guest bedroom upstairs, digging out the luggaage and packing the bloody things...

Please tell me I'm not alone in my weirdness ?

No your not alone, but as we have established on Hitched before, I am a complete OCD organisational freak ?, so perhaps it doesn't provide much reassurance.

I would say we are 70% packed. But, that's because 70% of our honeymoon clothes are new and have been "saved" to keep nice for the honeymoon. I have about formal 8 dresses in the case, 20 pairs of new undies for me, 10 pairs of new boxers for OH and 20pairs of new socks for OH, 2 pairs of smart flip flops (no chance to wear them in this weather!), 2 pairs of new Havanias for me, and one for the OH as he is currently wearing a pair I got to save. OH has 4 brand new shirts, which again, he won't wear everyday, a new pair of smart trousers, few pairs of white linens.. OK, the list is much longer so I am now going to stop.

Oh yes, and all our sun cream was bought on special offer a month ago and packed, same for bug sprays and plug convertors. We also have all our currenty with our passports in the safe.

Re: Jabs - I've just had mine for Mexico - Typhoid and Hep C.

If your going to be doing certain things Hep A is also suggested, but I didn't have it.

Oooerr KBS you're getting a bit ahead of yourself there! I have things I have bought for HM still in their retail bags in my wardrobe.. nowhere near my suitcase though. I go away in 2 weeks and 6 days.

Wow! Miss Super-Duper Organised over there!

I have passports in the safe which is where they always are anyway.. we don't have any new clothes for the HM but me and OH going to Cabot this weekend to shop until we argue and go our separate ways (snigger).

Our suitcases are sitting in their usual place with nothing in them and we have no sun cream or any travel toiletries. I have some Accessorize flip-flops and a hat still in their retail bag shoved in the bottom of my wardrobe.

We still haven't added our passport details onto our flights (must do that!!!)

We have booked the HM though.. if thats a consolation? lol

NikiST - the booking is a great start.

Me and OH move house 2 weeks before the wedding, and get married 250 miles from where we are moving to, so it's a logistical nightmare, and everything has to be done with precision enginering ?.

Including the packing of the cases before we move and everything gets mixed in together with our other clothes/cases etc. As if honeymoon get taken to the new house, there is a good chance they won't be taken on HM, as we will have 7 days to unpack and then re-pack for the wedding. It's an interesting time.

KBS - I'll probably be the same later this year, but we've got two trips away over the next few months, which need my cases. As soon as I know we won't be going away again before the wedding, I probably will set out at least one case and start putting stuff in it, as my box of wedding stuff under the bed is getting a little small (we're getting married abroad, so I'll have even more stuff!)

Not even I am that organised! Plus I need the suitcase before my honeymoon, so would only have to empty it again.

I think it's something to do with the virus being passed on via bodily functions - the most obvious being blood.

Just had a google, but so much conflicting information out there, so your doctor may well say something different.

We haven't actually started packing, but before we booked we did a faux pack with everything we'd want to take to see if we needed the extra luggage allowance.

Want to lose more weight before then so everything I have now will (fingers crossed) be too big by then.

    I thought we were organised!

Our process goes - Get a list of things we need to take done the week before.

Pack said items 2 days before.

Last few bits going in the day before.

    Haha that is organised!

The closest I've come is seeing things in shops and thinking 'ooooooh that'd be lovely for honeymoon. Shall I buy it?' as I want to wear lots of white and carry on the weddingness (possibly a bit sad, but I don't care). But thankfully my sensible side comes out and so far I have refrained ?

It seems I may have got my A, B and C confussed.

I have had A, and had a choice to have B.

    This will help:
