Sorry its taken me ages. I'm a rubbish Hitcher. But here it is:
Thursday, 1st September, day before the wedding.
H and I had barely slept for days because there just wasn’t enough time. We woke up at 7am, H finished decorating the cakes, while I called the suppliers to make sure everything was still on track for w day. I realised that I wouldn’t have time to do everything that I had planned to so delegated to absolutely anyone. I ran into town to have my nails, hair and spray tan done and pick up a few last minute bits and pieces while H picked up his family and showed them around the city. On my way into town, a car started beeping at me. It took me so long to recognise that it was 5 members of my own family (they never come down to see me, I go to them, so it was really strange to see them here); I felt stupidly touched that they had really come – like it was only a small party I had invited them to! At 5.50pm I suddenly remembered that I still hadn’t bought any tea lights and ended up panic buying some from Primark. I got home and had just enough time to stack the boxes up ready to go to the venue when H and his family arrived home and it was time to go again. H got his family settled and went off to pick my CBM up while I helped the last of the guests find their rooms for the night and set up for the wedding breakfast with the help of my mum and one of my aunts. It occurred to me at this point that I hadn’t eaten since 7.30am and I was starving! My aunt said that she had food in her room and to come over to eat something once I had finished setting up. H turned up with CBM and admitted that he had forgotten to write a speech (arrrgh! ),so I helped him put something together and said he would have to ask one of his friends to help him finish it because I was off to my aunts room to have dinner. H had to break the news to me that it was 11.30pm and my aunt would probably be in bed by this point. I ended up eating cereal in my room. CBM and I stayed up til 2.30am chatting because I was too excited to sleep.
