Job Interview

Becklarrr, 13 May, 2013 at 12:21 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 17

I have another one for the police this week (not sure on what day as I am waiting for a phone call) and after my last one I am not getting my hopes up. I just get so nervous and forget everything. Do you think it is worth taking some Calms or some sort of calming remedy? I know it's not going to help me remember stuff but if I am calmer it might.

Also can I please have some good luck vibes!

I'm not brilliant with interviews myself, so can't help, but want to send some good luck vibes to you.

    Good luck!!

All I can say is, they wont care how nervous you are - chances are they're just as nervous. As long as you show you know the stuff, that's all that matters.

    Go get 'em! Smiley smile

Also, if you have a mind block, take a drink of water. It'll give you some extra seconds to think of something, and you wont be sitting there panicking, as the water will take your mind off it.

As long as they don't make you drowsy I don't see why not.

lits of candidates I see bring notes to thier interview with them. Likewise s bottle of water is a good prop for giving you time to take a sip and think before answering.

could be worth speaking to the hiring person asking if notes are ok, most interviewers want to see that you can do the role, not that you can remember lots of stuff off the top of your head.

have you googled interview techniques? I would also google sample questions for the role so that you can prepare some answers that you think you are likley to be asked. Have a think about what qualities they want and think how best to display those in you answers.

Sending a million and one good luck vibes to you Smiley smile

I hate interviews can't sell myself or my good points at all, I get very self concious and start stammering at times and can't get a formed sentence out, sounds good in my head by the time its in my gob and out, bad times.

    Good luck!

I like to do this. Like someone else suggested Rescue Remedy is good for calming you down. I have never tried Kalms. Just don't do what my Auntie did! Back in the 70's my Auntie was very nervous about taking her driving test as she had failed a few times before and convinced her doctor to perscribe her some Valium. She takes the Valium before the test and the test appears to be going well. Then she suddely realises she has been at a set of traffic lights for a while and the examinar impatiently is saying "Mrs Everitt the traffic lights have been through 3 rotations, are we going to be moving soon?". Needless to say she failed after her drug induded stupor!

    Good luck for the interview!
